joshp Posted August 14, 2015 Share Posted August 14, 2015 Hi all I've got a 2011 zetec s. Since about a week ago it is beginning to get really difficult to put into first. I am having to put it in second then into first but even then it can sometime slip into 3rd. Not good at traffic lights! It happens even when the engine is off without using the clutch. DieselPig Posted August 14, 2015 Share Posted August 14, 2015 No problem with mine, could be a rusty cable, the ball joint on the end of the cable or the gearbox pivot bush. Take the gear lever shroud off and inspect the linkage sometimes the ball joints come off then inspect the gearbox pivot this typically get tight.
