Hi All

I've done a lot of work recently on my 2007 Ford Focus, all of which is internal for example

  • mk 2.5 center console
  • 4 spoke steering wheel with cruise control
  • footwell lighting
  • boot 12v socket
  • second boot light
  • heated seats
  • auto lights and wipers
  • android stereo
  • reversing camera

I was hoping to get some ideas for more modifications to the interioir and exterior of the car.

Any ideas would be great

Thanks Chris

Have you gave any thoughts on a 35mm drop? Just subtle enough to improve handling and the look but not rattle yourself to death

Agree with the 35mm drop.

How about an st spoiler and led rear lights twin fog reverse lights have a look at what other members have done to their cars to get some ideas you like.

What spec focus is it? I changed my mk2.5 rear spoiler to the ST spoiler and it's improved the back end, also took chrome bonnet strip off and colour coded it to the car, added with the zetec s front upper n lower grill front end looks lot better now.

New the ST spoiler is £225 from ford primed but not painted. I got a colour coded one n rear light n wiring for £100 off eBay.. shop round and u can get a bargin.

What size wheels do you have fitted?

If your running 18" and u drop it you may need the steering rack limiter, not sure myself as ive got 16" so didn't need to when dropped mine but I'm sure some1 on here can advise you.

I've only got 17" standard ones I'm hoping to sell them soon to get some ST ones or RS type ones. a £100 is good for all that! whats the best thing to do on the engine are the K&N performance filters any good?

Because it greatly improves handling and levels out the door sill line,

At present the door sill line is slanted towards the front but when lowered the sill becomes level here's a picture

I don't think my other half will understand that one bit, she will just be thinking that I'll end up doing to my Focus what I did to my last car haha

Lucky for me my brothers a mechanic so a visit to his for a couple of hours and she will be none the wiser 😉

Another thing is if i were to buy the mk 2.5 side mirrors with the indicators could i swap them with my mk 2 ones and take the cables from the indicator on the side of my car and attach/splice them to the side mirror

No sure about the mk2.5 mirror fitting the mk2 door but the mk2 ST mirrors have indicators in the mirrors and they will fit straight swap.

I was looking at them and they seem to be £50 for the ST and £30 for the MK 2.5.

Was hoping to just swap them and splice the two indicator wires together

Well I've ordered some so now I'm just waiting for them to arrive!!! was reading up about some members swapping the throttle body to 50mm, i wasjust curious as to what that can actually do for the car like the pros and cons

What throttle body would you be using for that, my mk1 I used a throttle body from a mondeo.

tbh unless your going to go the whole inlet manifold change too plus remap and all the other tweaks it's not going to really make much difference

Ah fair enough I don't think I'm anywhere near the confidence to start doing that stuff I'll probably just focus on the interior and exterior upgrades before moving onto the engine and other parts

After reading online and looking at some pics a lot of people say they still get the slant forward as the drops 30mm F&R, I'd assume go level the car out you'd need an extra 5mm at least on the back?

That's what I'm doing, started with  scuff plates, changed the interior bulbs and currently in the process of exterior bulbs and an additional boot light, then it'll be springs, paint calipers maybe an induction kit.

safe to say I've caught the big again 😆
