    Car bunny hops low speed

Variety of possible reasons: - All cars feel different and depending on what you had previously, might just be a case of becoming accustomed to it and finding the ideal balance of clutch/throttle. Some diesels can be a bit "all or nothing" in their power delivery and take a while to get used to. - I've had a couple of cars with incurable software "glitches" such as Tom mentions, just had to drive round the problem. - Could be worn/weak engine mounts - some cars are known for this even from new - Clutch issue ("judder") particularly when the car is cold.
  3. You are indeed correct 👍

    Ford S-Max Steering Issues

I had similar problem with mine changed the pump which is easy job unfortunately didn't solve issue and had to change rack aswell big job. Was told common fault with a part in the rack if left knackers pump aswell which I'm guessing is what happened with mine. I got reconditioned pump, rack from wps can find them on Google also have a ebay shop pump was 295 the rack 250 Mines a 2006 2.0tdci not sure how difficult 2014 would be. Would definitely recommend doing pump yourself to save on labour cost
  7. Hey all. I purchased my 21 Focus at the start of the year and ever since I took delivery of it, it seems the Deep Sleep mode activates constantly. As soon as I lock the car, within five minutes I get the notification. It is recommending a long drive without the AC on to fix but I regularly drive 200+ miles in one journey, just for it to appear again. I did buy the extended warranty so is it a case of taking it back to the dealership? cheers all!

  9. Rule out any idea of a 'short' 'cos a short circuit will result in melted cables or worse, a fire. Try your jump lead, not from battery neg to engine, but from battery neg to bodywork - there are some earth points visible in the engine bay you can clamp onto. Ideally you want a test bulb on wires and croc clips to do some testing, as just reading open circuit volts with a meter doesn't cater for high resistance connections; you need something that draws current for proper testing.

    Today I'm listening to......

Hi all, I've been listening to a couple of tunes I've come across, the first is Alvin Bishop with the song "fooled around and fell in love ". A song i heard a few years ago but had no idea who sung it until recently. The other is Ozzy Osborne with"crazy train" and some of he's other recordings which i have rediscovered.
  14. Hi again Guys, I finally got around to getting my finances sorted and bought a 2011 Focus 1.6tdi Titanium MK 3 during February this year and I am so pleased with it. After my 09 Jaguar 2.7 tdi XJ the mpg is amazing averaging 64 mpg around local and going out for my afternoon drive around the countryside sometimes late 60's early 70's mpg on the display. The road tax is £395 cheaper too. I need to have the air con regassed and was thinking of doing it myself to save money and buy a can (you know what I mean, hopefully) from Halfords. I presume the air con filler valve is the one just to the left front of the engine. Any advice will be very much appreciated, thanks in advance, Supertrev. .

    Looking to buy an Edge

To answer your questions in order: Tesco fuel has served well for most of the almost 105000 miles. Not been bothered by many. If you are, get a touch up pen. No. Let us know how you get on, and what mpg you get. I would expect to get on a leisurely run to get 45+ in my auto.

    Mk2 - Passenger Footwell Damp

Didn’t smell sweet like coolant. Not sure how I check if it was coolant if I’m honest? I’ve not removed any panels where the water ingress is coming from. I have used the AC recently so could be condensation from the drain pipe if it’s missing or not routed correctly?

    Possible Mk3 Boot Leak?

Hi all, Wonder if someone can advise - this large cavity in the boot is now full of water. Found this video on YouTube that has exactly the same issue as me. Unfortunatley no further details on how to fix this was shown. I have removed rear bumper and resealed the air-vents as well as the lozenger-shaped grommets, and I have checked the leaks coming from roof and window, but no water ingress there. I suspect it will be coming from rear lights where the bolt meets the hole - but not sure. Any thoughts? Thanks

    LKAS, TSR failure

Everything looking pretty well attached under here. My father in law has. FORScan thing so I’ll see what I can find on that next.
  24. Looking at your two photos of the yellow lever it doesn't seem to be moving the cable at all (as you said). I can't remember how far the lever could move on our old Mk3 but I'm sure it ought to move a lot further than shown in the right-hand photo. Are you sure it's not just jammed at the catch end? Have you tried operating it once the bonnet is open to see what is actually going on? Personally I think it's highly unlikely to have stretched as it's a solid wire inner.
