dont use that file, its a 400mb file for small screens, i already have a upgrade package on my website for 19274

Thanks. Finished off the initial install this morning with maps and voice. Everything works perfect so far. Changed the APIM hex data to display radio logos and they appeared and stayed so don’t think I need to update firmware. 
 

Only thing I’ve noticed is I no longer have the parking sensors display on screen.

I have. But doesn’t display. I had to change the PDC Architecture when I first upgraded from sync 1 for it to display. I’ll play around again when I’ve got time.

 

out of interest I backed up my APIM data before doing the update. Is it not possible to just write the data to the APIM after the upgrade?

Right somebody’s got to tell me if the latest build of sync 3.4 you can skip through all the preset banks instead of having to swipe the screen!! It’s driving me nuts. 

So I've decided to pop my head around again! I've since upgraded from my 64 Plate focus to a nice shiny 66 plate ST 3 (Tangerine Scream too!) With native sync 3 (all my hard work converting 1.1 to 3 gone! Hope there's someone driving her and appreciating all my hard work! Damn I miss that car)

 

Been following this thread for a little while now, I must say the work you're doing @Luke_Anderson @Tezza and @Phil21185 is extraordinary! You've brought my Sync tinkering itch back and I'm eager to try 3.4, fingers crossed my APIM will hold out on me! 

You guys got any updates on bugs or issues you've encountered? (Might've missed some updates due to scrolling through the thread on 3G EW!). Looking forward to getting the fairly archaic looking Sync 3.0 system looking shiny and new!

 

My current project is trying to find a way integrate the modem that comes in the newer fords into mine... Haven't seen a guide for that yet so I'm itching to work out a way to do it! (Where there's a will and plenty of Tea, there's a way! 😂)

@skullyi no issues what’s so ever with 3.4 for me apart from auto dim keeps turning back on

been running 3.4 for a few months now and love it, and have radio logos etc too. I believe I have the AE enhanced dab file, and get logos on many stations  

some stations don’t have logos and that’s fine - you get text instead.  However some - such as Hallam FM seem to have a logo, but the radio is unable to show it.  This happens on a few stations but since you were local I wondered if you have the same problem?

I was also wondering if the AD enhanced file was any better despite being older?

Luke mentioned he had this issue and used another dab file that contained more logos. Not sure where he got it from as i have the same. 90% have logos.

That’s very interesting. Would definitely like to know what file they are using. There are some national stations with a similar problem for some reason absolute works but magic doesn’t as another random example. You can tell the difference between a logo that is just missing and one where it’s not working because the text from the radio text appears differently you also get a blank box where it should state the station name

I dont get that. And i have magic,capital logo etc.

Well that settles it really - magic looks like this on mine.... (also see examples of a station without a logo (lbc news), and with...

It’s the original cyanlabs guide - 19101 I think? And the dab file is AE.  I did mess around a lot and upgraded to 3.4 before upgrading the firmware via FORScan beta.

To me as a techy, it’s like the version of software I have doesn’t support a certain image type.  But that doesn’t make much sense since it’s the same download.

im happy to faff I just wondered if anyone had a view purely because it takes so long to install each time!

I might run though the new (bit by bit) cyan guide later?

Thats the guide and files i used mate. Ive not updated my firmware yet but i will i think. Not had reason to yet. See if @Luke_Anderson Will point us in the direction for the dab file he used

Cheers. Hopefully so but I should get time to faff tomorrow anyway. It’s a minor thing / but to me it’s more annoying than the ‘installation in progress’ but haha.

Seems like it might be the AE file then...  I’ve installed the base package from the updated cyan guide and loads more logos appear. I noticed the base pack has the AD file and it doesn’t seem to get replaced at any point - even with the 19274 upgrade. So I’m not sure where AE came from but I will be steering clear for now...

Ive got it I think. As soon as I upgraded to 19274 the logos were messed up again!  Some worked, most didn’t.

I also noticed the pointless DAB Info button was missing. Rather than downgrade though, I manually autoinstalled the AE file and looky here...

it appears 19274 supports bigger logos.  I guess it’s personal preference but I’ll be sticking with this I think....

Final update from me for now... I’m back on 101 😞. I forgot about missing auto sim on anything above 19200 😞. So I’ve downgraded, using AD for logos (smaller ones) but still better than I had before.

I cannot recall if I asked this before, so, excuse me if I have.

Are there 'release notes' for Sync 3 updates? (I'd like to know if it's worth the effort in future to bother changing what works perfectly well)

Hey guys I used the AE file as for me the AD that comes in the base package didn’t have radio 1 or 2 in it? That was resolved in the AE file. Just installed it as a stand-alone update

That’s weird - I defo have radio 1, can’t say for certain on radio 2.  That’s on AD!

Not official ones.  I could type some up but - as you can see from this page - people have different results.  A lot of the new features require a firmware upgrade too.  Without it, it’s mostly just a nicer skin.
