Small Red light on dashboard flashing

I have just acquired a 2008 Ford Fusion.having parked up and stopped engine,the red light in the top centre of dashboard is flashing.i understand this is an anti theft device,but is there some way of switching this off...thank you for any info

Thank you for your reply,,this light flashing must be on all fusions then

Thank you,,I,m only concerned that it may drain the battery

It wont, its a very small LED that just shows the immobiliser is working. Much more of s worry if it stops😀

I've just asked this on a nother topic.

Until recently, the engine immobilizer was disabled (not flashing) I presume this is because we have a cheap, non-coded key.

I removed and replaced the starter motor fuse only to find the immobilizer had enabled itself.

Trying to find a way of disabling it also.
