    That just generates the XML log file to upload to Ford servers. Same as the one you can download separately if needed.

Got tired of waiting so I’ve just installed the updated F9 maps using cyanlabs links to the files and creating my own autoinstall.lst

Install completed successfully and took about two hours.

rayferry, any reply yet from the executive at Ford?

The official F9 map update package has been found on the Ford servers (not yet for my VIN though).

It's a newer build than the individual files previously found. It's still labelled as F9, but it's compiled early 2020.

I installed it last night, be warned, when it does officially get pushed, it took over 2 hours!

I received a reply yesterday afternoon, just saying this will be reviewed and they will keep me informed and of any release dates.

So really we are no further forward.

I read there that Sync4 will have Tom Tom maps. I don’t know what that means for sync3 owners...

edit* Tom Tom Traffic. Must be new version of the current Live Traffic..

Like others I have lost patience waiting for Ford to 'release the goods' & am preparing to upgrade from 3.3.19052/F7 to the latest versions using the information available

I've noticed that there are some minor differences with autoinstall.lst files which people have crafted to perform such updates

1) There are variations in the Options line eg

Options = AutoInstall
Options = AutoInstall,Delay
Options = Delay,Include,Transaction

2) For maps & Nav voice
- some have just done license with maps then another install for nav voice
- another option is license & most maps in one install - then a couple of maps with all the nav voice in another (& different options lines - see above)

3) I've also noticed a couple of Tools scripts - which I think seem to check for 'disk' space & whether the MY is not 18.5. I'm tempted to include them too for the SYNC upgrade

I'd be grateful if anyone can shed any light on this, thanks.

Any time lines?

We are working on releasing some new features into our vehicles/ App with local hazard information (LHI )being one of these. Whilst we continue the development work on this feature you may see some references to LHI in the FordPass app. For this function to be fully available, we need to deploy an over-the-air update to your vehicle; this is scheduled later in the year at which point you will be able to activate fully.

Kind regards

I got another email from the Executive office today saying my dealer will have to apply the Sync update and F9 maps.

My Focus is booked in for it's first service in October so I will get it added to the list of updates to be applied and report back then..

So are they telling you that the dealer has to update sync3 to ver 3.4 or for something else and that they have to load F9 ( not normally dealers responsibility) and that you wont be able to do it yourself via Fords download site.?

In the meanwhile, CyanLabs will gladly help you update your Sync and navmaps into fresh version. It is simple, but happens at your own responsibility. My update took 52 minutes, if remember correctly. With F9 Europe satnav and voice commands.

This sounds very peculiar!

the Ford dealers will be charging a fortune in labour!

Just checked Ford download for 2nd time today and there's a 883MB sync3 update with maps to follow so looks like it finally been released for us Focus 4 owners at least.

Yep, it then offers the 22GB map update I installed the other day, the B*G, "F9 v2" maps.

Just remember, my map update took 2 hrs!!

Now just the wait for it to be released for the fiesta.

Just checked for the second time today & I too have a sync3 update - its 3.420136 (dated 12th August 20). How ironic that I installed 3.420196 a couple of days ago when my impatience muscles twanged .... waiting for a convenient time to do the latest maps. I wonder what maps they will offer ....

It's F9, but a "v2" of it. There seems to be two sets of map files labelled F9.

Yes it's here at last

Guys, do you have to use USB or can you use WI-FI F?

THE EXCITEMENT is getting too much😁

It's 882 MB so I suggest USB will be by far the safest way.

Use USB much safer its ver 3.4 20136 takes about 15-20 mins to upload to car in 2 stages . Leave USB in car after first stage as it hasn't finished uploading

Strangely the official update doesn't include the updated station logos or the new voice files ?

logos - 1U5T-14G658-AE.tar.gz

voice - 5U5T-14G391-AL.tar.gz

It shouldn't take very long to do the update without those...

I lost the DAB logos when I updated.

I installed the AE logos myself to get them back.

Also installed the AL voice pack.

I kept an XML at each stage so I could give the Ford website what it wanted.

I've now updated mine beyond the official updates to 20196, AM voice and AF logos. Much better Audio screen layout, but just traded some bugs for others, lol.

Is this going to cause problems?

I’m not 100 % sure on this update process.....

down load on pc

unzip

add to usb stick (exfat)

start car and insert stick in usb port?
