That just generates the XML log file to upload to Ford servers. Same as the one you can download separately if needed.

Yeah. Would older USB sticks have a problem? I'm guessing not if they work on fat32.

I thought they could all be formatted either way but if you put it in a PC and open formatting you'll see the options ie Fat or exFat

Well I'm formatting it on the PC now instead of the Chromebook. I unticked quick format though, so now its taking ages. I'll try again when it's done.

I have 4 files (unzipped) being added to my flash drive .... is this correct?

Yes, same for me. Only the app update to 3.4.20136. Same as @ianincheshire mentioned earlier in the thread, there’s no updated voice or dab logos included in my download either.

I managed to download over WIFI in the car... is the voice and DAB logos an issue?

I have 3.4.20136 now.

No, they won’t be a problem.

Finally got it updated. Says there is a map update in my Ford account but just says I'm up to date. Does it take a while to show up?

I feel a busy day coming on tomorrow!

I updated my car over WiFi to 3.4 20136

wonder if the Ford servers recognise my update to allow me to download maps?

Just done my update, 35 minutes from inserting the stick to success message.

Just uploaded the xml file so will wait a couple of hours to see if map updates show up.

For information, I downloaded the update on my Samsung S9+ using a program called ADM (downloads faster than samsung imbedded file manager and supports resume if pausing downloads or packet dropping occurs), transferred to a 64Gb exfat formatted stick and straight to the car and no dramas, a pc was not involved at any point.

same issue.

Your software is already up-to-date. No action is required.

my Ford account states MAP available. 🤔

resident experts have any ideas??

Just checked this morning still no maps available.

How many others have got the General tab in settings greyed out. That can't be right ?

That usually only happens when the ignition is off.

ALEXP999 any ideas on the missing maps?

Probably just trying to save load on the servers at the moment. Either that or a problem has caused them to suspend it. But I’d assume just the load situation, even my vin won’t check for map updates now and I’ve done it.

Just one word of warning, IF there is an issue with this one and ford have stopped it for reasons other than server load, be aware it might be different to what eventually gets offered for your car.  But this is the one I got offered. So one could argue mk4 focus owners all got offered the same initially and you may have already downloaded it, so they’d have to offer a second update to fix any issues anyway.

Ha ha I'd never noticed that before

Yesterday I updated the system software as offered by Ford and installed without problems. Uploaded the xml file to Ford and got the successfully completed reply.

But now when I check for any updates I keep getting offered the same system software update. Anyone else getting this error?

You need to upload the xml that gets generated to say it’s been done.

Or download the tool from the troubleshooting section and upload a new one.

Done both and still get offered the same system update.

Is that the actual file downloaded from the Ford site, or from a 3rd party site
