Paul J kashman
Hi all i have just brought a Ford Focus titanium 1.6 14 reg and can see it has parking sensors but these don’t do anything. When I put it in reverse now sound or when I pull forward near an object no sound. Is there something I am doing wrong? Sounds silly I know but I have the ‘A’ button on so that’s working. Didn’t come with manual so used the VIN number to get a manual online but this is no help either
apt
The 'A' button is to de-activate Auto Start/Stop. Does your infotainment display change when you activate the parking sensors manually (the button with the P and cone symbol)?
Paul J kashman
When I press the A button it then says off underneath it in amber Nothing changes when I pressed it. I moved my car forward and reserved it but still nothing. confusing
Paul J kashman
Ok. Sorted the reverse parking sensor as the heating was on high (reading other posts) this causes some things not to work such as start stop and seems to affect my reversing sensor. Although front didn’t work
apt
The 'A' button has nothing to do with the parking sensors - it disables the auto start/stop feature of your car until the next ignition cycle. What is displayed on your infotainment screen when you put the car into reverse now that your rear sensors are working? Can you post a picture of what it displays. Also, do you have the 'Auto P' button? Can you post a pic of your button configuration underneath your climate controls. I don't think the 2014 Titanium came with front sensors as standard so the 2 pics will help determine if: You have factory fitted front sensors that aren't working, or You have aftermarket front sensors that aren't working, or You don't have front sensors.
