I do like getting the all clear from the doctor further to a cancer scare.  Still got lots of problems in my life but at least now I've (hopefully) got a lot of time to deal with them.

  • I do like finally finishing a model kit I first started 5 and a half years ago.  It's a very special model that i was supposed to finish by the time the aircraft took her final flights across the UK

I do like taking Brandy for an extra extended walk along the Stour, in the sunshine with the humidity far lower than it recently has been:smile:  The river level is still very high but the meadows have drained since we last went that way, we didn't have divert through other fields.

I also gathered around 6 kilos of blackberries, a little over 2 kilo of bullaces and fifteen poo bags (I'd run out of containers ) of mirabelles, or a mirabelle looking escaped plum  on the way back.

I do like that in 4 milkings time.  I won't be milking cows again.  This converts to, tomorrow night(I have tomorrow afternoon off).  Then I have 4 days off and then I start my new job.  Better pay (£7.50 atm for 39 hours then £11 after that, new will be £8.49 then £12.55 overtime) more sociable/better hours and as I'm driving a tractor I'm assuming better conditions.  I also like the phase of motivation I'm having at the moment + other than being tired I feel a lot better mentally.

Do like ticking past 30,000 miles on my Focus (purchased second hand with around 17k miles in late 2013) - problem free :) *Knocks wood*

May not be the newest/flashiest car on the block, but still drives brilliantly and manages to put a smile on my face each time :)

I do like having a tea that consisted entirely of all nine varieties of tomato, now they are all ripe and ripening:smile:

The Black Russian (heirloom not a beefstake but as big as) and the Lizzano (cherry) are the best flavoured, with the Monserrat coming quite close:smile:  The Brandywine (heirloom) wasn't as flavoursome as I'd been led to believe:mellow:

Whilst researching things to help Brandy now she's an older dog, and stairs at night are becoming an issue (more so up than down). I discovered a dog hydrotherapy centre literally 20 minutes away, they also have a dog (and horse) physiotherapist:smile:  A hour in the pool with two hydrotherapists is only £35:smile:

Brandy's going to see her vet tomorrow to see what they can offer her too:smile:

I'm about to slip past 40,000 miles on my Mk1 Focus, it'll probably happen on the way back from the vets tomorrow

I do like ordering 4x new Continental TS800 tyres for the Quasar.  I hadn't noticed how bad the old tyres were until I drove the Focus to work yesterday (with Nokian winter tyres) and then took the Quasar today, which felt like I was driving on ice by comparison!

Yes, I knew they were bad - but compared to the Focus it felt lethal.  So, four new tyres and wheel alignment are booked in for next Wednesday.  Until then, it'll remain parked up and I'll use the Focus for work...

The TS800 are winter tyres, which may seem a bit early but the alternative is to buy summer tyres and then have to buy winters anyway in a few months, so may as well just buy them now.  Plus I suspect the price will increase in a few months when they become more popular and they can get away with charging more.

Not bad, new tyres for the Peugeot and an excuse to drive the Ford for the next six days!

I do like returning from the vet with some anti-inflammatory medicine to help Brandy return to her springy bouncy self, although given her age it might take a while:smile:

Brandy likes having medication, for it involves sardines:laugh: Each dose is "hidden" in a sardine:smile:

I also like the very low fees (in comparison to others) Brandy's vet charges, comparing to mate's and their vets, Brandy's seem to be cheapest in the county:ohmy::smile:

For once she didn't bark at all the other patients in the waiting room, leaving that role to a particularly loud chocolate labrador called Jack:laugh:

Although it's early days, and she's only had two doses, I like that Brandy is showing an improvement with her anti-inflammatory medicine.

She's followed me up the garden to inspect the potatoes, tackling the steps between the terraces without needing assistance.  She's regained the ability to support her body without falling down backwards into her pee puddle:smile:  No more soggy tail and paws:smile:

Last night after her first dose, she began to walk more confidently:smile: She still needed assistance to ascend the stairs, but she went straight up:smile:: rather than stumbling backwards on each stair climbed, which she had previously begun to do:huh:.  She didn't even want to pause halfway up for some panting and rest; before attempting the last flight.

I do like a nice pizza (not home-made, but "made in store" at Sainsbury's) and a glass of red wine!  Just what I need after the week of hell.  Well, every week at work is a week of hell, but this one was especially bad.

I do like the fact that my driving test is in less than 6 days! I'm getting pretty anxious but I know I'll be fine once I've done a few more practice tests on Monday and Wednesday. Let's hope I can remember how to drive after being in Cyprus for 10 days!

@jmurray01 Sounds like you're enjoying the Focus, shame you aren't closer otherwise I'd wash it for you!

That'd be a good start!! :unsure::laugh:

I am enjoying it, but I still don't like the petrol engine!!  I hate having to rev the engine even when I'm just pulling away slowly or reversing - whereas in the 405s I can just lift the clutch and off it goes, holding idle speed without any throttle.  I tried it a few times in the Focus, and even lifting the clutch slowly it stutters and then stalls.

Basically they are complete opposites - with the 405 it is "clutch then throttle" and with the Focus it is "throttle then clutch".  Just have to make sure I don't get them mixed up, or else I'll either stall the Focus or burn the clutch on the 405!

If I'm ever in your area, I'll take you up on that offer...

I do like, that further to my question in the Focus sub section.  I have got a Powerflow backbox(but without the silencer) twin pipes either side(just like the mk2 ST)  all for £150.  Get it fitted on the 17th

I like that i found out this evening my car locks itself after a period of time when all doors are locked. Interesting find. Does anyons else MK2.5 Zetec do the same?

I wonder if it would work equally well on somewhat elderly and very arthritic mothers?

Perhaps when I next go up to Derby, I should take a Wolf costume, and see if I can take her to the vet, as a houndwink.png.

It does sometimes seem that better medication is available for animals than for humans. Possibly the long term safety testing & requirements are a bit less stringent, or more realistic, for animals. But when you are 90+, long term safety becomes less important than being able to enjoy the present, surely?

Fortunately, she has no stairs to worry about, and can still drive. Her little car is a lifeline! Even though it goes no further than the local shops these days.

But hopefully now, you can get up the stairs with the coffee in the cup, and not all over Brandy & the stairsbiggrin.png

Payday

Finally buying the Tank in GTA Online and trolling everyone out of the lobby.

Yes!!!!!! That's the first proper thing I got to troll with haha just driving around blowing everyone up!!!! 😂😂😂

I do like Brandy is improving with every dose of her anti-inflammatory medicine:smile:

Last night unaided, she climbed across my duvet with me under it, over to her own and rearranged her vast collection of soft toys (11 of which are dogs) into a big nest for sleeping amongst.  Something she hasn't been able to do for a while.

This morning, she was able to revert back to her alarm call methods to wake me up! Which used to do, if I was still asleep when she woke up, or she needed the loo (with some urgency)

She begins with a gentle pawing to the face and torso, followed by nose prodding everywhere.  When I've failed to be roused, or am choosing to ignore her, she places her vast collection of soft toys on top of me, then standing amongst them, on top of me uttering woofs interspersed with a more determined pawing and nose prods and finally she removes of my duvet.  Which she drags off across the room, taking to the the through door and then sits on it in the hall.

Well, it's an NSAID and they are available for humans as well as dogs.

It's much easier to get an appointment with a vet than a GP: same day versus "...in about three weeks time we haven't got any earlier appointments...".

Veterinary medicine and particularly with regards to surgery, is at where human medicine will be in the future.  They're already using stem cell and gene therapy, 3D printed implants and replacement articulated joints in animals: human surgery is playing catch up, it seems:huh:

My 88 year old Mum still drives, her limit is the village shops and a friend about 1½ miles away (although sometime she forgets where her friend lives and I get a phone call "where does Anne live, I've forgotten..."

Yesterday evening after her evening stroll, Brandy climbed the stairs almost faster than I did behind her, supporting her hips.  She ended up doing a couple of stairs unaided.

I do like having a profitable Sunday morning stroll with a vastly improving Brandy:smile:

Not only did I gather £23.46 in loose change from the pavement in front of the takeaways on the way out, I also gathered getting close to 4 kilos of particularly large and juicy blackberries around Dudsbury and Longham.  The largest and juiciest of whom were in the most inaccessible places:mellow:, some which involved a couple of unexpected tumbles into, say the river and falling face first into a rather prickly neighbouring gorse bush:laugh:

I foresee another round of crumbles, pies and fools being assembled for the freezers.

Brandy has just managed to climb both sets of stairs unaided, and she's only been on her medication for 4 days:smile:  I wonder what she'll be capable of after a week? or a month?

I do like the GTX jump starting with ease and getting it moved closer to the house, after last weeks bump starting fiasco...

I do like, after what must be a month of failed attempts now, finally being in Tesco, when the 24pk loo rolls hadn't sold out:smile:

Well, they almost had: I got the very last pack in the store:smile:
