Things I do like

Featured Replies

I do like someone handing in our son's lost iPhone!

After 20 minutes retracing his route home he got a message from his pal he was out with. He had phoned his number and was told it was at the police station. (We tried a couple of times but it just went straight to voicemail)

Son left a fiver as a small reward.

Nice to see we still have honest people about.

EDIT: We did try Find My iPhone but apparently it was switched off! 🙄 Now switched on and tested.

I do like getting the all clear from the doctor further to a cancer scare.  Still got lots of problems in my life but at least now I've (hopefully) got a lot of time to deal with them.

  • I do like finally finishing a model kit I first started 5 and a half years ago.  It's a very special model that i was supposed to finish by the time the aircraft took her final flights across the UK

You lucky man. Everytime I ring up to cancel something they try to offer me something which would cost me even more.
I thought with Virgin you couldn't just cancel 1 channel though as they are offered as a bundle and not on an individual basis.
I tried to get a better deal on my TV package when Virgin had a spat with UKTV and we lost their channels, but it would have cost me £6 more a month and that was with a loyalty discount.

My dad had racing UK but never watched it so cancelled it and the person said as you been with us from day one I will see what deals we have as we have the full house tv and I had up to 200 broadband and he did the up to 350.
You can cancel premium channels if they don't come part of your package.

At first going back a bit we didn't have the top package so i had to add sky sports then extra if i wanted them in HD so as it was cheaper at the time we did and this is when they offered me the full house which is the top one with the HD package which is all the movies and sports so now its in with the package,i can cancel sky sports still being a premium item but i would not save a lot if any as you said or say i could cancel the movies and just have sky sports but as its the HD package (movies and sports)it would be as good as the same price.

I liked watching this thing defy physics this afternoon...

It's basically a forklift, that picks up a container using tiny hooks on only two corners, shoots it upwards as if it was made of cardboard and gently places it onto top of 4 other containers...  😮

Cranes are huge so it's not a surprise to see them throwing containers around but I hadn't seen one of these before!

I like getting a good deal on a Photobucket subscription which makes my guides visible again

My broadband went up from 356mb to 411mb when I stripped out the stock virgin media cable and installed Belden 1694A coaxial cable from the brown box outside in to the router and tv box

@Lenny aren't you able to upload pictures on your phone on the forum? I wish all forums can let you do this not that there is a limit to the size of the pictures like on some forums.

I think I bought a nice aquascape set for the new tank. Hopefully that ends my search for ornaments 😂. What I like about it is it takes up the height of the tank. On the picture the background consists of tiles which are 10 x 10cm so from using that as a reference point the highest point will be about 55cm, 20cm in depth and about 40cm in length. The seller is away until the 6th so expect it to come next week. Just hope it comes alright and looks good in the tank.

Back when I created the guides; the forum didn't host photo's I suppose it wasn't a done thing back then and it would cost them money on server usage and stuff,

Suddenly then Photobucket started to charge for server usage meaning the more people download the images the more I got charged.

I now plan to transfer the images from Photobucket host to the forum's own host, so the guides stay alive without the use of Photobucket.

If it don't look rite you could try maybe smoke it 😂

@Lenny lol i think I have a rubbish imagination when it comes to aquascaping. I went to my local fish shop a few times just to look at the ornaments and see which ones would look good with no luck. The day before I was watching some YouTube videos and came across an aquascape set being advertised on the video. Checked it out on the website and looked at their other sets and came across this one. As soon as I saw this one I looked at the dimensions of it and compared it to my tank. Looks to be a perfect size so just went ahead and bought it yesterday. In the description it says when you click 'buy it now' your buying exactly what's shown in the picture. It looks like this company makes their own Aquascapes and sells it. I might get some moss from the fish shop and stick it on the branches.

Will look great along with the lighting👍

I can imagine the conversation at dinner in your house this evening

"How was work?"

"Good"

"Do anything exciting today"

"Well I bought some weed on the internet;😳 eh for the new Aquarium"⏱ 😬 👀

The advert came on showing the new Focus,i like it a lot and look even better in a nice white.

I do like the nice bright LED bulbs I have fitted to the indicators (front, back but not mirrors yet due to stock issues), rear/brake and reverse lights.

I'm still sceptical of fitting LED dipped/main bulbs at the moment and happy to stick with the Night Breakers for now.

Also (for some unknown reason) I picked up an LED rear fog light bulb. Anybody know how to get in to replace it on a Mk 7 ST / Mk 7.5 Fez?

Did you buy the autobeam ones? With the rear fogs aren't you able to access it after removing the light unit?

@zain611 yes, I picked up the Autobeam ones after your damn post 😄.

I think I must have been pricing up what it would cost with full LED bulbs and left the rear fog one in the basket when I checked out.

As for fitting, it looks like the rear fog light is accessed behind the rear wheel arch where it shares the space with the rear reflector. Doesn't look too bad but not in a rush to fit it for now.

@Zico lol how you finding the rear brake lights? Did you get the new performance ones?

Got the performance bulbs across the board. Definitely brighter compared to the stock (rear brake) / OSRAM diadem (indicator) bulbs I had in beforehand.

**Edit** Didn't have stock of the Autobeam reverse LEDs but happened to find that I had a pair of CEUK ones I must have ordered a year ago and not got round to fitting.

Is it just a normal LED bulb for the rear fog or the whole fog & reflector unit?  If it's just the bulb you can reach up underneath the bumper and just twist the bulb holder out.

@TomsFocus It's just a bulb like the rear brake bulbs. I was also thinking that I might just be able to get underneath the arch and unplug the bulb and swap out. Might try that later.

Shame this is Cat D, would've bought it otherwise...  Ideal number plate...

That is a shame as its a nice car and a dam good price.

I like that it has a Heart for a Like on the pages as a lot of places a heart is for Love and they put a 👍 for like.

Just fitted the rear fog LED. Light fixture itself was a simply twist and pull but the length of the bulb and holder meant that you need to move the wheel arch liner back. There were two plug/clips in the lower part of the arch that I couldn't get to pull out. A little further up there was a plastic bolt that screwed onto the arch to hold the liner tight (why they couldn't fit this to the lower points I don't know). In the end I simply brute forced the liner back as far as I could so I could get the bulb and holder clear. A lot easier getting the damn LED bulb back in afterwards 😄.

My tree root and rocks arrived today 😁. Exactly the same wood and rocks shown on the ebay picture. Thankfully no damage however haven't taken a closer look of the rocks to be sure. Need to find a bucket or container I that can fit the wood so I can soak it.

I would have saved money and taken a walk down a river bed with a bucket and a small pruning saw looking for a dead tree [emoji6]
