Mine has got very floppy over the years (the door handle!😀) and several local specialists have told me it's an old design, can't be repaired, only option is new door c/w modern locks and handles, cost a grand, blah, blah. Anyway found some on the interweb so ordered a pair - just hope they fit! Should be fine. You just need to order the same size back plate, screw centres and distance from lock cylinder to handle centres. I've replaced a few now during several house renovations.

I've spent a couple of hours this morning carefully removing and measuring the door handles/locks etc as per the diagram and then found all I really needed was the reference number off the old lock😡! Can't wait for the new bits to arrive now so I can do the job!

You don't need to remove the handle, you can just measure the dimensions from the face in situ and then you can look at different manufacturers that list the same dimensions. It's a nice satisfying little job. I've just replaced all of my brass hardware with chrome and also changed all of the glass in my composite door and side window to frosted. Just like you I was told you can't change the glass, it took me 1hr max!!!

Wouldn't see the money mate there's 5k euro in radiators 7k euro in floating boxs, cables, distribution boxs amplifiers and converter modules, another 3k in television's, another 1k euro changing all electrical sockets & switches to clipsal, 3k euro on sanding pads, filler, foam, paint and rollers for entire house, 1k euro in solid oak mantles, Around 24k gone in to it now including wardrobes and beds. Had I just finished the living room first Would been grand but the home entertainment network took a lot of investment to finish it entirely and im delighted with it will last forever without the use of WiFi all direct wired Cat7 seamless in the walls capable of 10G per second transfer currently running 1 Gigabytes. I can't wait to get the downstairs doors and frames done next then we can get the living room floor down, just two sofas to be got then that's that room done then. I've put the best of every category in to it to get the best outcome when completed, just taking a bit long to get there 😅
