1.5 diesel duratorq engine

Featured Replies

Hi ive got a 2016 ford focus on with a 1.5 diesel duratorq engine it has only done 42,000 miles and has come up with the engine management light it has had a diagnostics kit on it and says its the mass airflow sensor would anyone know if this would be due to the field service action on this type of engine?

help appreciated

It's just the sensor being a little grubby is all, common if you're running in dusty climates and especially with aftermarket filters, but if you've had a particularly salty winter period that doesn help either. Clean or replace, bot very easy and quick to do on those, it's the plug going in to the airbox where your air filter flows air in towards the engine. Either can be done in around 15 mins if you're familiar, half hour if not and maybe a bit longer if you're not at all mechanically minded, but it is a really simple one. Just be sure of how the plug comes off the sensor first so as not to break it off
