Tinted windows

Featured Replies

How does the vehicle looks with tinted windows? Is the (central) front window factory tinted?

Tried 70% at the front windows and 25% at the back windows. It is very nice.

Windscreen and front windows both have a slight tint from factory.

Is it 75% from factory?

Are tinted windows allowed/illegal there?

It's pretty close to the legal limit, if you add a tint to the front then you will be illegal.

Tinting the front is illegal in this country, you must allow 75% through windscreen and 75% through front side windows.

Here, legal is 75% at widescreen, 70% at front and as dark as it can be at rear windows (if the car has side mirrors).

I think that is for all Europe, at least all EU. (not so sure)

I meant 75% on windscreen and 70% on front windows.

What country you in?

Ellas,(Greece as it is known there).

I think that those are the legal (tint) numbers for Europe.

The question remains, is the widescreen tinted at 70% from factory?

Here is how it looks.

It is writen on the front window (windshield/widescreen) AS1 70% Trasnp. So it is tinted from factory.

The side front windows AS2, perhaps they are more tinted from factory.

AS1 is the clearest, mostly for windshield/windscreen window, no tint (or the least, min. transparency 70%).
AS2 mostly for side windows, no tint (or the least, min. transparency 70%).
AS3 mostly for rear windows (but many cars don't have), it has less than 70% transparency.

Propably, at most cars there is no UV protection (at least not enough/high) and there are no tints from factory.

Some people measured the windows (to a fiesta model) before putting tints and there was not significant/high UV protection at front windows. At the rear windows there was (about 94%-95%), beacause they were AS3.
