Which engine?  Not sure about the diesels but the 1.0 MHEV's haven't had engine covers for over a year now.

My dealer just informed that till July 2022 he can't give me some updates regarding my order since the Sync 4 it's not manufactured till then... I really hope I'll not be postponed in 2023 because I'll lose the 3000 euro discount...

My dealer still advises the system shows my build date is May 2022, seeing as there is only 1 week left in May I'm expecting to drift.

It's impossible since no Sync 4 cars are produced, only Sync 3 cars

True but similarly why haven't they changed my date to July or September like other users on this thread?

I'm frustrated like all users on this thread but I still prefer keeping people updated anyway.

You'll be postponed when you don't except, so don't be so excited...

What gives you the idea I'm excited? I'm frustrated like everyone else

I’ve read everything on this thread with interest and anticipation of perhaps gleaning some desperately needed information and clarification about likely build and delivery of my new Focus. Unfortunately, the wait continues… but I’ll be honest here, it’s largely self inflicted on my behalf.

Had I not been able to order my Focus 155 st line with goodies at an unbelievable price, I would have stuck two fingers up if I was paying list price, as most dealers expect now!

my motivation could be described as greed on my part, but in my defence, I just want a lovely car at a price I can live with, with hard earned cash…

Even though I still am looking forward to this car, and that I will wait, someone looking at our plight from the outside, would probably say , there will be a shed load of choice from next spring! As nice as I believe my new car, when it arrives will be probably the best car I’ve ever owned, it will be‘yesterday’s technology’….

My car has just landed! Looks super smart I am v pleased with the silver colour choice. Sync 4 seems very responsive.
only minor niggle has asked above is that the eco boost engines come with a linear shifter rather than the rotary, which is contrary to what the dealer told me. Having driving round the block it makes no difference so not worried about that.
the eco boost engine 155 feels nippy and sounds quite throaty at 3k revs plus - an added bonus!

Looks great, as you say it's a shame no rotary selector. Even just as a visual, rotary definitely would have looked better. Out of curiosity when did you order your car?

Love the colour! I nearly went with that but chose Race Red instead (cheaper lol). Just had a phone call from my dealer and the car finally arrived last night so have booked to collect on Saturday morning 😁

Yea I agree. I ordered through motorfinity who also told me the diesel wasn’t an option anymore which comes with the rotary selector.
the order went in end of jan 2022, so it has been a quick turnaround!

If it's with Sync 4, don't have big hopes...

I order focus st-line on 21st November 2021 still waiting possible build date june that is the third time build date i have had ford are a joke customer service terrible

Picking up my ST Line Vignale (powershift) on Monday. Ordered Jan 2022.

Those of you who ordered in 2022 and picking up cars now-july it's basically only orders that are made by dealers with few to none extras, that's why you get your car so soon.

That's strange when st-line vignale has all the extras on

Perhaps with the limited stock of chips, they are prioritising the higher value models? They take the biggest hit when these orders are cancelled.

He means optional extras.  These cars are presumably all standard spec, ordered by dealers long before you 'chose' your car.  So they were in the system for potentially several months already.  That's how mine was last year.

A order is a order wither its high value you or not it should be the date you  made your order not because someone came along and paid more

The 'standard' orders in common spec/colour/engine combo's are made by dealers so they've got some stock on their books.

Just as a random timescale, the dealers may have made their facelift orders in June '21.  If you then made an order that can't be matched to one of their 'unassigned' cars in Nov '21, that gives a 5 month extension to yours.  If Jimbob selected an 'unassigned' car in Jan '22, that could already have been in the system since June '21.

I'm fairly sure it's nothing to do with cost, as dealers make a better margin on poverty spec cars.  Though it may be something to do with emissions targets as was mentioned earlier in the thread.  Manufacturers are required to keep under a certain average of CO2 figures per year...so when production is low, they can be forced to produce more small engined or manual models than big engined automatics for example.  VW group have been working on that system, over the last year, so you could get an electric Golf or ID3 much more quickly than a diesel GTD, even when placing new orders much later.  There's a lot more variables involved than simply building cars in list order.

All that said, the lack of clarity & communication within manufacturers and dealerships (both Ford & VW, as well as others) is certainly frustrating, I don't think they'd get away with it in other areas of manufacturing.

You are absolutely right communication is a joke from manufacturers and dealers

Careful or you'll get grilled for being too enthusiastic......

Apparently that's not allowed here 🤣
