I'm using the normal ford pass just. I seen someone had mentioned yesterday about not having remote start. 

Ford pass Pro is intended for commercial vehicles.

The normal Ford pass app can do everything a car is capable of, whether you have the modem or not, you don't need any other app.

I was hoping for remote start so can defrost in the winter 😂

Remote start is only available on autos with a built in modem.

Ahh right OK, I'm gutted lol as Duke178 said was looking forward to being able to defrost without leaving the house. But on the plus side I am really loving it.

Although I think AlexP999 might be right with the 'automatic' requirement, and for me I'm hoping he is, as I ordered an automatic transmission this time. 

I’ve just spoke to the rep at motorfinity. Delivery booked in for next Thursday . 
I did ask directly about the shifter on the eco boost and he did confirm is the rotating shifter over the linear shifter in this model, which is contrary to above advice. I guess in reality it’ll make little difference to the car overall!

Remote starts a cracking feature , I’ve got it on my mk4 . afaik illegal to use on a public street , bit of a grey area (I’ve got a driveway) . Don’t know if it was only possible with the dial selector (?) How’s the sync 4 ? did you have sync3 previously? To compare the two?

I have a Focus Mk4 Auto with dial selector and remote start works fine (Sync 3)

Also recommend you install the other Ford App as well "Ford Pass Pro" it seems more reliable, especially for remote locking and remote start.

Mines a rotary too. Was wondering if the mk4.5 7 speed auto will be rotary or a stick? And whether that’ll also have remote start. 
btw, good to see 4.5s getting manufactured. I’m having to look elsewhere. Due to order in July , Fords not taking orders

mk4 autos were all rotary. Afaik they’ve only kept it in the diesel. Only a 1.5L diesel option. No 2L 

Re FordPass pro. I remember around 2019 new owners having trouble with the app. Some thought the pro version was the answer. Imo shouldn’t matter , ones for private owners ones for a fleet, both should work. Mines been flawless since initial setup. Tbf had a few visits to the dealership first few weeks and calls to FordPass support (which I have a phone number for if anyone needs it) . It works , if yours isn’t there’s probably another factor. Also any issues with auto android/Apple CarPlay, rumour was you had to use an official cable , Apple or Samsung etc. Not the case. I had this , turns out the charging point on my iPhone needed cleaned out (done free at the Apple shop) now works flawlessly with any old cable!

Hey Alex, the sync 4 is really good! very responsive. I have changed from a Nissan Juke haven't had a focus from mk2 as I was driving cabs so I had saloons couple of modeos and skoda superbs

There are a few, but most of it is through the Sync 4 system.

I got mine vignale active yesterday, and remote start and locking and unlocking works fine with normal ford pass. 
 

Also sync 4 supports wireless apple carplay that is really nice.

Mine focus didnt come with engine plastic cover, dunno do they even make them ?

My dealer just informed that till July 2022 he can't give me some updates regarding my order since the Sync 4 it's not manufactured till then... I really hope I'll not be postponed in 2023 because I'll lose the 3000 euro discount...

Nope, cost reduction that's really a *****, but that's not just Ford , almost all manufacturers are doing this
