Just to be proper, I did enjoy over 50 mpg on the way to Nottingham the other day, but my average over 1100 miles is 43 mpg.

Not too bad I don't think, especially considering its winter and its new.

I'm sitting at 44.6mpg with about 3200 on the clock. Was over 45mpg until colder weather set in.

I'm pretty happy with this given my daily commute is about 20miles each way on mostly B roads, got just over 39mpg over the time I had my Mk4 1.5 ecoboost 182.

I've been driving like a nun!

Right, I'm gonna rag it tomorrow and see if I can manage to get into the 30s.

🙂

So I filled up this morning. My trip read that I had less than 100 miles left, less than 1/4 on the fuel bar, but it only took 27 litres 😅 my suspicion is that it's reading heavily on the MPG apposed to what's actually in the tank (I believe it's a 55l tank?). So I think need to get back into "normal driving" ie daily commute etc to really see what it's capable of.

So it was around 13 miles from the petrol station to work, all A roads, a few sets of traffic lights and a few more roundabouts. Trip read 34 MPG when I pulled into the office car park 💪

Drove all the way with the smart limiter on (currently trying that out, which I quite like!) So took it pretty steady.

Overall though I'm quite happy with that! Will keep monitoring though, and I'm sure when I get a little "spirited" that MPG will drop 🙈

Also, has anyone had any info from their dealership this week? I'm not sure who's back on normal working hours yet in the UK

According to Fuelio, my average it's 6.4l/100km in the last 2800km, on the car computer it is showed 6.3, so yeah, it's pretty precise.

In the first 2000km the consumption was high, but after 2300-2400 it started to came back at normal values( under 5 l/100km for driving at 100km/h)

and for those using old money = 44.14MPG

Still can't understand why with the metric system they can't just say 15.63 kMPL

No update for me yet.  Although not expecting one just yet as just before Xmas the eta to dealer was mid Feb and the factory has been on shut down so probably will not have changed, however if eta to them is mid Feb I would be expecting it to be built any day now..  VIN still not showing on ETIS..

Had a phone call from my dealer this morning. My car has arrived at their compound! Mine was stuck in Dagenham due to the rolling stock issue but has finally been freed! Ordered in January '22.

I still got no clue when mine is going to get built, oh well. (ordered Feb' 22) 🥲

@Jo1980 Hopefully yours will be with you soon, too.

I reset the trip computer 254 miles ago just to see. So far I’ve averaged 30 miles to the gallon. Far mix of motorway driving and round town.

First update of 2023 is our focus is still sat in Dagenham ( has been since 29th nov).  .  Do have an eta to dealer of the 7th jan but that has changed every week since dec . Time will tell if we get car in january

Same with my Fiesta. Arrived Dagenham early December original delivery cancelled. Checked with dealer today. No update on delivery.

Had a phone call today saying they now expect my car w/c 16th Jan. I knew the 7th was optimistic considering Christmas period and reading some of of the delays mentioned above just from getting the car from Dagenham. I fully expect it to move again.

Coming up to 12 months since it was ordered, at least might be one of the first for the new reg in March eh 😄

Not to sound patronising, but have you reset your trip? When I picked the car up mine read something horrific like 7mpg average! There are two readings on mine... An overall trip for distance driven, mpg and time. And then an mpg only trip. I reset the multi reading screen each time I fill up, but only reset the overal mpg only trip on my last fill up!

I've done around 600 miles now, and I'm seeing an average of about 24mpg. I've started opening it up a little more and using sport mode a little more too.

Now I'm fully back into the swing of work I expect that overall to slightly go up. It's all A road / Motorway driving for the commute, and I'm shift worker so not rush hour traffic!

Not sure how you have different readings for the trip computer (meaning two actual different modes).

All Focus cars I've seen (MK3; 3.5; 4; 4.5) have exactly two identical trip computer sets. Meaning two perfectly identical functions of trip computer, actually maned TripC1 and TripC2.

Yes you can reset them when you like, one every year and one only once when you pick the car for its entire life, or one every day and one every 5 minutes, etc., however you see fit for yourself.

Now I obviously reset mine when I picked the car up from the dealer. So I have TripC1 with all the Km I have done with the car (and will keep it as so until my first service) and the other one, TripC2 I reset for every outing.

The only issue is I just don't want to go out with the car in the winter (only if it's perfectly dry and >5'C)😅

So, safe trips and will be back with more details in spring (so we have some more relevant data to compare with)!

Dealer Friday update today.  Car is now "body off line" which he thinks means going to paint and showing eta to dealer of week ending 18/02/23.

The VIN is now showing ETIS but doesn't really give any info other than ST in mean green..

So chuffed today all, and I thought I'd post this for others suffering b&o speaker rattles, albeit yours might be different, but thought it might be useful.

Having heard the rattle with certain songs at vol 20, I thought it was coming from the passenger side seat belt mount area.

I tried prodding and pressing various areas around there, and realised a very gentle push on the door card itself where the red reflector is stopped the noise.

Pried the door card away slightly today, and placed some 4mm felt in between the door card and the metal of the door.

Fixed.

No rattles at all now.

Chuffed.

Hope this helps someone else.

Hi all.
On the new Model Focus now, the glovebox doesn’t actually come with the tray part.

ive ordered one, but It seems to be Ford cutting back on things as Isoflex seat plastic covers are no longer with the car as well.

Oh and engine cover on mine is no longer present  too.

seems a shame there cost picking that much.

Does any one know of lining for the glove box as well?

They have cut costs all over the place a bit cheeky considering the price is going up and up. The document holder in glove box as you say isn't there but they don't even give paperwork anymore, no manual or service book. The sunglasses holder in the roof has been taken away and the little drawer under the light switches by your knee is no longer fitted. No plastic engine cover and the keyless locking only on front doors instead of all 4.

All of these were not present even in the pre-facelift model If I recall correctly. When they first introduced the MHEV engine and the digital dash to the Focus, they started cutting down on the equipment. Also, the glasses holder was always only present with the pano roof extra (at least for the hatchback models).

I've had my Titanium vignale now for about 10 weeks and a few differences between the mk4.5 & my previous mk4 I've noticed, there has been some cost cutting by Ford that's been mentioned in several earlier posts.

Other points - as much as I love the big screen it would be nice to be able to switch it off, the last focus had a button that turned the screen off. I drive at night a lot and preffered the dark cabin. Also there's always 2 functions displayed nav+phone, nav+music, music+phone I'd like to be able to dedicate the whole screen to just 1 function.

Drive modes - it would be better if the car remained in the same drive mode as the last time the engine was running. Instead having to select Eco or sport on startup every time. My wife's fiesta does.

I'm sure an update from Ford would/could address these points.

I've seen some posts mentioning the subwoofer, are they fitted or not? I've not seen one in mine however I did see the amp under the boot floor. Mine does have a decent sound and I tend to err on the side of clarity rather than volume.

I do love the car but a few tweaks and extra details and it could have been something really special.

I will say though then design is a handsomer car, the drive is quiet and smooth. I'm enjoying regular 51+ mpg on a just daily commute. It's doing an airport run next week and it'll be interesting to see the fuel return with 4 people and a couple of suitcases on a long motorway run.

Subwoofer (if fitted) will be obvious as it sits on top of the spare wheel, you should have it as part of the B&O system in Vignale trim

I had a MK4 and all of those were present and it was just a titanium. I now have titanium vignale with less features. It had glasses holder but without the pano roof. It had 4-door keyless, the glove box separator and paperwork, engine cover and the small storage under the light controls. I understand the economic situation has meant that all car manufacturers are cutting costs but they're not passing the savings onto customers. Apart from the bigger screen and digital cluster my 2018 lower trim was better equipped. The sad truth of modern progress unfortunately
