Unfortunately you'll have to get used to these temperatures because earth is warming up for good.

About time too, I've been preached to since the 70s about global warming, of course, then there was mass hysteria of global 'cooling'! Get over yourselves, the climate is always changing. The UK contributes less than 1% of global emissions, if we achieved 'net zero' tomorrow morning, that's the effect we'd have - zero! China has approaching 2000 coal fired power stations - the UK has ONE! China has 28% of global emissions, so basically, no matter what the UK does, we're just going along for the ride, but due to green hyperbole, we're bankrupting ourselves in the process...

Bring on the warm weather.

Had no issues sailing around the Aegean and Ionion sea untll we strayed almost into Albanian waters and had a swift meeting with the Greek Navy 😳

Wow it's hot at work!! Hotter now than this time yesterday.

Coolest room in house is 28 degrees.

Well, last night was disgustingly hot...

Kept the window open as long as I could, until about 11pm.  When a massive moth came in!  Too hot to do anything about it, but assumed it flew back out before I closed it.  How wrong I was there...half an hour after getting into bed it sounded like a damn apache helicopter flying around the room and smashing into things!   Too hot to get out of bed so just had to put up with it.  Trouble is, I can't find it this morning!

I dont get in, i lay on with my 16" fan running. i live alone so no-one to frighten with my nakedness lol

Figure of speech lol, I haven't got the duvet on in this!

PS - Seems like a good security measure...scare off any burglars.

29.9c in the loo now, currently the coolest room in the flat.

Lounge/bed/kitchen is 32c...beyond manageable for me now.  Couldn't eat anything more than a few crisps for lunch.  Hoping it'll drop a bit by 6pm but seems unlikely.

Well it's dull & overcast here, and a balmy 24c, great summer 🤣

Just got back from having tyres fitted and on board temp was showing 38 degrees outside.

Forgot to look at the gizmo as to what the inside temp of the car actually was.

Update - 14.50, just started to rain LOL 🤣

Update ,I left work even earlier today. Got to 39c by lunchtime and I was exhausted. So 2pm I came home in my freezing cold Mondeo. Well the inside was cold after a while but outside wasn't.

At home and the temp has suddenly dropped outside a few degrees, looking like rain/thunder clouds heading our way. Sounds a bit odd but I'm cooling off in the hot tub!!

My luck will be I get fried with a lightening strike while I'm in here. 😂😂

No temp drop outside here yet.  Still 35c and warmer out than in.

Geeze, what a humongous fuss over nothing...  2 x days of 'summer' and the country collapses in it's own hype.

Looking on Sky news atm, those houses are getting destroyed with the fire, poor sods.

Not seen all the wildfires, ruined roads & train tracks and heat related illnesses then?

There not just in the wilderness, residential areas being burnt to the ground. Whole estates and streets burnt to the ground. Absolutely devastating for the owners.

OMG, why don't we just all go and hide ourselves, and come out when it's all over?? Tom, we'll just have to disagree over this issue. Wildfires happen every time there is a spell of dry hot weather, not just the last 2 days.

The railways we have are a bygone product of the Victorian age, where they grind to a halt by wet leaves, snow, heat, and numerous other issues that don't interfere with other countries railways who operate regularly in much warmer weather.

Cold weather kills 74% more people than heat in this country, and we have had none stop government health advice chucked at us for 10 days now.

Temperature gauge in the truck hit 27 today, yes I realise that wasn't the actual temperature, very warm and muggy all day apart from a couple of times the breeze felt a bit cooler.

Cooked pizzas on the BBQ when I came home and now it's p*****g down and just seen lighting and heard thunder.

Cooled it down a bit and made it more comfortable. Hopefully a better nights sleep than last night even though it was nothing compared to you Southerners.

So we shouldn't bother doing anything to try and reduce them then?  Just let forests/fields of crop/people's houses & livelihoods go up in smoke?

You're right about the railways & roads not being designed to cope with the heat in this country...but unless we've got the spare money & manpower to upgrade them, we're stuck with those for now.

The problem is not climate change, it's the current speed of the change.  Living organisms can't adapt quickly enough the current rate of change, and infrastructure can't be upgraded quickly enough to manage it either.

The speed of change needs to be reduced as much as possible, as soon as possible.
