If you want a lingering smell once the bac-bomb wears off squirt some Fabulosa disinfectant down the vents haha, not too much or you'll be overwhelmed by the smell.

My Aircon spray I used has lasted from 2019. Was a can of worth air con spray. Not cheap but does the job . I know it was back in 2019 as a was chatting to @TomsFocus about it back then. Only since the very hot weather has the nasty bacteria smell returned due to air con on max .

and then all I do is switch air con off for a couple of journeys and it dries out stopping the smell for a long while. Need to do a proper spray job at some point when I get another can.

Update re naff aircon post earlier.

Well, it's one of those times to fess up to my own stupidity.

It wasn't switched on 🙈

We went Chapel st Leonard's yesterday as its Father in laws birthday soon and on the way back the Mrs was complaing it's too warm in the car.

So I pressed the auto button on the matrix for what I thought was switching the aircon on and no, that's just the heater that's blowing. For some reason I thought pressing the Auto button activated Aircon to come on but no you have to physically press the aircon button on the right hand side next to the circular dual temp button. Once pressed and ice cold air was flowing through the vents.

So after a long ramble, the aircon does work providing you switch the damn thing on and one other thing the Stop Start actually came to life on the way back albeit only at the last roundabout 3 miles from home, not bad to say it's a 130 mile round trip, Dolphins ,what Dolphins.

if you leave your vent position selector to windscreen A/C will auto start and the orange light will come on

That was the gripe with the Mk3. Always had to turn it off or send spend the 10 minutes sneezing and wiping my eyes, hence why it hardly gets used.

My 2006 Toyota Corolla was a tremendus miracle of mechanics...It never needed to be checked for the AC and it was working fine for 15 years...AC reduces the engine power dramatically so i use it only at summer time especially on my return at home evening time.

Irrelevant...The only annoying thing in my Focus MK4 is that it has an electric gas pedal,,,i hate it a lot...I am drivinhg it only in SPORT mode.

"dramatically"?? I usually always have my A/C on, never noticed a 'dramatic' drop in engine power, to be honest, have never noticed a moderate drop in engine power!

Aahhh... so your 95 RON unleaded is different to our 95 RON unleaded, nothing to do with the A/C, thanks for the clarification...

Typical summer day in Greece...

You've just reminded me, on the news today, scientists have attributed last weeks heat wave in the UK to climate change, and have also stated that 2 degrees was caused by man's intervention with the climate. So, FFS, we are being shoved a whole 'green', 'net zero' agenda down our throats everyday, and crippling the economy for the sake of 2 degrees?? Can't begin to state how angry I am...

You usually make a very good attempt, though, Stephen.😀

I wondered if you'd seen the media coverage in the last few days ago featuring a front cover of the Radio Times from 1974 when they were predicting an imminent new ice age, then 2 years later we had the great drought!😀

Hope you're doing ok with the Covid, btw!

I remember that 'ice age', also the imminent emergency crisis of the hole in the ozone layer which was going to destroy humanity LOL Those of us old enough have earned the right to be cynical as science has been getting it wrong for decades. The young'uns are now taken in hook, line & sinker over this nonsense, despite having more access to information than mankind has ever had before - it's all so sad...

Cough getting worse, but I'm no hospital case, thanks for asking 👍

Just checking Stephen, when you say that you remember the ice age you're either much older than I thought, or you mean you still remember the days of the Internal Combustion Engine 🤣🤣

PS. How you feeling, is the covid showing any signs of easing ?

i remember the ice age of the 70's with 20ft snow drifts and power cuts, when dinosaurs ruled the skies and schools used slates.

I remember the snow drifts too . Power cuts were the norm, esp in the villages. Parents had candles, torches, and a coal fire that got used to boil water and cook tea on. Don't remember dinosaurs though🤣🤣. But at school you had to use a lead pencil at primary and middle school onwards was an ink pen. Either a bottle of ink or cartridges.

Thanks for asking, typical 'flu like' symptoms, aches & pains, bit shivery, very sore throat, but, vaccine working as I'm nowhere near a hospital case! Hoping for improvements in the next few days... all good 👍

We had to earn a 'pen licence' at primary school.  No middle school here though!

My partner said she had to pass the pencil test before being let loose on a pen.

Did she have to impart knowledge that pencils were filled with 'graphite', and not, 'lead'? LOL

Yeah, that's right.  Handwriting had to meet the strict standards of...the teacher with barely legible handwriting themselves.  🤔

Anyone that went to school in the 90's will probably remember the magic pencil videos on a massive CRT screen mounted on the most unstable wheeled trolley they could find.
