PCM & ABS Fault

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm looking for some advice, my dad has a 2014 Ford Ranger Limited with around 85,000 miles on the clock.

He has the following fault codes:

PCM U0407:00-28

Invalid data recorded from glow plug control module.

&

ABS UO401:00-28 data received from ECM/ PCM is Invalid.

Summary of fault.

Jerky when pulling away, seems like misfire. Mainly between 60 & 70 mph although it can happen at lower speeds.

What are you using to read the DTC's ?

Codes which begin "Ux-xxx" are communication errors between modules on the Canbus system and in themself are not an indication of a failure. There are normally additional DTC's which would point in the direction of the problem. Neither of them codes is likely to be causing the problem of "Jerky when pulling away, seems like misfire."
