    to be honest, if you go to a street locksmith like I did, they just encoded and fitted a glass chip into my key. Much cheaper - £35 for that, or it was something like £90 for a locksmith to code the carbon key...

    Well I've just found a key cutters in Romford, Essex that will cut a new blade for £10 that with a new key it can all be done under £40

    Yeah I had a flip conversion key cut for £6 had my origanl key board and that in it but would not work even tried reprogramming. Put it all back in my original non flip and it worked straight away no programming.

    Did you definately take the immobiliser chip over?

    The chip is much more hidden on the key and is seperate to the circuit board, so you might find that is why it didnt work?

    Yeah swapped all bits over. Opened the door with key and started car but could not programme key for remote locking but worked fine when but all bits in original key.

    very perculiar! programming the central locking can be tricky, but if you take the same transmitter over, I dont understand why it wouldnt work!
