Dials Not Working When Car First Started

Featured Replies

My sons 56 plate 1.4 fiesta started playing up a bit yesterday.

Last night he shorted the electrics out, blew a fuse and had to reset the immobaliser by disconencting the battery.

After this the car started OK, but each time he starts it, none of the dials work for about 5 minutes.

Battery condition was checked as OK yesterday and he has had it run through diagnostics this morning, which don't show any faults.

Has anyone else ever come across this sort of issue before ?

Just an update, its all sorted now. They did a complete ECU re-write on it and it is now fine.

Im having a similar problem to this, the instrument cluster doesnt wake up for a few seconds after starting the car, but does produce a few ECU fault codes, beginning to wonder whats up with it :/
