Hi all.....Could anyone point me in the direction of some mist style, heated screen washers that would fit on my 2006 mk2 Focus please?

try the focus mk 3 ones .they should fit yours .thats what im using on mine

The Mk3 heated mist washers fit all Fords from at least as far back as 1998.

they make me laugh mk 4 ? i remember when i bought mine they where about a fiver.

if i can find my spares ill sell them to you for £8 if you like.

Only issue is they seem to mist too low someone suggested a blob of glue i took mine off it annoyed me too much lol

i cut a tiny piece of plastic from a cable tie, then positioned it under the rubber, it just lifts it up enough to make a difference with barely any noticeable sign its there.

Apply some Sugru or silicone around the underside of the hole.

Nope, ive been keeping an eye on it and no water damage on the side of the liner or over the engine cover.

The angle you need to change it by is pretty small when you put some non return valves in, it was a bit weak before hand but after I placed those on each nozzle it gave it a bit more reach an it looked like it used slightly less water too.

Yes I have these exact ones they are genuine ford ones. I just cleaned around the cut out section on the bonnet before I installed the new mist jets to give them a better seal and when installing push them down firmly ad they seat in place 100%. I have had no leaks myself but I do keep an eye on it from time to time just to check.

I found they did spray a little low when idle but when the car is in motion they hit the top of the glass so I did no alter them at all.

Have you any pictures of your alterations on these? did it make much difference?

also I did noticed some drizzle water after use stays on the bonnet , its not too bad but when the car has been polished it frustrates me a little. I was thinking of non return valves but never got around to add them. what ones did you use and did it stop any drizzle from the jets?

you cant see the changes whilst its on, but if you cut the tip off a really small cable tie off and stick it to the bottom of the rubber, it points it up a fraction. The biggest difference was adding the non return valves, it doesn't leak all over the bonnet ( that green stuff from Halfords goes orange in the sun!!) an the pressure is a little more, doing that adds a small restriction so you don't get as much on the window but that's not a bad thing

I'll give it a try with the car in motion and report back. I'm hoping that the air flow coming over the car helps it all out. At the moment the 'fan' is quite low, wide and has a big segment from the middle

On the subject of washer jets, is there a better one available for the rear window? It's a bit P1ss weak isn't it?

I wasn't overly impressed when I upgraded mine to be honest but as time went on I think they are way better and spray the water a lot more evenly that the stream type ones. I also noticed that the mist spray height increased when used when car is in motion so I was happy enough.

I don't have non return valves and get the dribbles on the bonnet. Its annoying when the car is polished and they stand out more but I was going to try some non return valves in the hope it would cure this.

up to about 50mph it increases, at around 50 if I push an hold the very corner of the spray shoots off the window, above 50 it progressively gets worse, at around 80 it sprays about 1/3 of the way up

I saw a similar kind of thing to what Dee has described. The spread is a lot better once the car is moving for certain. It's OK at 70 mph. At 80, I couldn't comment. Much. ;).

I'm waiting to see how the neat washer fluid (dependant on brand make up) performs now. I'm expecting it to lather (foam up) as it mixes with the air.

watch out for that green stuff from Halfords, it goes orange in the sun, end up with marks all over the place if you don't wash it off early.

Totally agree with you there. I suppose its affected the most at higher speeds but I mostly drive at 50-60 on my local Roads (Mainly small twisty roads) so I can live with it lol! :)

whats the best brand/type or value for money washer fluid to get? any recommendations anyone? something that cleans the window well.
