Things I Don't Like

She's a crossbreed consisting of half Welsh springer spaniel and half border collie.

The Dog's Trust chap that rescued her, knew her father's owner, her springer father was working gamekeeper's dog, on the Drax estate. Her mother was his next door neighbour's pet collie, whom he got to after he found a hole in the fence, when she was on heat:laugh:

mine was a  rescued  dog somebody had got fed up of him:ohmy:

Brandy was one of five puppies, one of her brothers went to the gamekeeper to become a working dog like his father, her other brothers' and sister went to normal dog loving homes,

However, the young Brandy found herself being homed with an erratic alcoholic young mother, as a pet for her son, there also a violent junkie boyfriend in the house.  That has given Brandy a hatred of small scruffy men who dress in black with a passing resemblance to Russell Brand, even now, years later

When she was rescued, along with two cats, she hadn't eaten for days, her fur was all matted and all three of them had been locked in a windowless room.

My daughter has a collie dog and she hates old looking men we dont no why

at the homing center they say she went for a sheep but we don't think that was true she lived with small

kids and she great with them she 13 now

I don't like that Brandy didn't have the co-ordination or paw strength, to ascend the stairs tonight even with help via her harness, she struggled to get across the kitchen, gave up and crawled like a seal back to her cushion.

I had to carry her from her kitchen cushion upstairs to her office cushion. I hope she's just having an off day and this isn't the beginning of her final decline:unsure:

I don't like that a lot of topics (but not all) have switched to a ridiculously wide format so only 2/3rs of the replies shows,

and you have to use the horizontal scroll bar. It is only yesterday I noticed it.

Typing anything is almost impossible. I have tried the Zoom in my browser, the test becomes illegible

before the full width is visible.

Try CTRL + F5 to force refresh the page and clear the cache for the site.

The site is fully responsive (same theme for mobile), so shouldn't do that unless something is causing it to break.

I have tried that, it did not cure the problem, though it has changed.

This topic (things I don't like) now displays as normal, no horizontal scroll bar.

"Things I do like" topic is still in the wide format, and I have tried Ctrl-F5, playing around with the zoom & other settings, but no change. The main topic sub-window or frame does not line up with the header frame. The header is correct width, the topic frame too wide. The screen shot here is zoomed out to almost get rid of the scroll bar, the headers do not line up.

What resolution is your screen and I'll try and re create it.

Something odd happened to mobile yesterday as well.  It would make the page far wider than the screen and send options like new posts over to the far right so you had to swipe across about 4 screens worth to find them.  Haven't had that issue today though and didn't have any trouble on the laptop either.  Has someone let Ford update the site software??

1024 x 768, normally.

I just tried 1280 x 1024, same problem.

Yes, something seems to be pushing the width out.

And this topic has reverted to wide format again, after a brief spell of normal!!!

I don't like traders who say they'll ring you back with your confirmed order 24 hours later: don't and then you don't actually know whether they can or cannot, process your order.

Having phoned them just now, the chap from sales I dealt with is off today, and the others don't seem to know whether he had processed my order, or wasn't able to after all:unsure:

I could've ordered from the manufacturers outlet web site and have it by now.

I haven't got it displaying like that in either Seamonkey 2.46 nor in Pale Moon 27.

I would've thought if it were a Firefox browser issue, i could replicate it in Pale Moon.

Can you open up the developer console to see if there are any errors?

Right click somewhere on the page and press inspect element, switch to the console tab in the developer window which pops up, then reload the page and note the errors.

I haven't been able to recreate it....

Might be a misbehaving ad falling out of it's container or something.

All pages I have tested are back to normal now!

I'll have a go if the problem re-appears.

I'm gonna make another don't like about buying early cars 2010s cars lol...

So, the Focus' MOT runs out in less than a month, I can't guarantee a pass due to the 'you know what' now I no longer have a friendly tester and don't want to risk it failing on that...as there's no way to return from that point without a lot of money spent.

I've been trying to change it, really putting the effort in this week to look for a replacement that isn't diesel *sigh*

I've been looking with the same criteria as I had for the Focus - up to 6 years old/80k miles, high fuel economy & £30 tax with the same budget I had for the Focus.

The options for diesel are the 1.6 TDCI in everything (Mk3 Focus, Volvo S50, Peugeot 308, Citroen C4, Mazda 3) and the 1.6 TDI in Mk6 Golfs & Octavias.  All decent sized cars.

The options for petrol are horrible tiny things, C1/Aygo/107,208, Ka, Picanto, Pixo, Jazz, Panda, i10, CitiGo...

Those small cars are too rough riding for my stomach, plus wouldn't be able to move tools about due to the complete lack of boot space, and they are horrifically slow...honestly saw an 18 second 0-60 earlier...I don't expect eco-cars to be quick but that seems dangerously slow to me, imagine pulling out onto a national speed limit road from a side road with that.  But the diesels all come with damn DPFs which, although newer and coated rather than eolys, would presumably still not be able to cope with my short drives, I also know that both engines have a lot of common faults.

The other thing I'm noticing is that even those diesels are fairly low specced, all just Zetecs or SE's etc, where there were plenty of Titaniums and Match/GT's about in the same budget when I bought the Focus...did people stop wanting spec in 2010?  I'm not expecting the extra options like full leathers and powerfold mirrors of my current Focus but simple things like cruise, climate and auto lights and wipers I was expecting to be pretty much standard by then, I was also expecting most things to have HID Xenons as standard but I've not seen any yet, instead it seems you're lucky to get a hard plastic steering wheel and a CD player.

So yeah, I'm still no closer to finding a replacement, and can't hold on to the Focus much longer due to the impending MOT...so I've managed to get myself stuck in yet another catch 22, no idea how I manage it so often!

/rant over

what do you think its going to fail on?

No 1.0 EB Foci/Fiesta in your budget?

Nope, no 1.0 Focus or Fiesta at all. Tbh the Fiesta is just on the cusp with boot space and ride comfort, but even then there aren't any 1.0 in budget, only petrol in budget is a 1.25...

Pardon my ignorance Tom but what is your budget?

The thing that ruined all modern diesels that may not be there anymore...  In theory I know it's up to them to prove it, but it hasn't been done well on mine, there's not even any pressure pipes or sensor as they've been welded shut, and it wasn't even welded on the original seem so it doesn't take much guess work.  It wasn't done as subtley as I hoped but I can't weld and it was done for free so I can't really complain.  After the hassle I had with the Fiesta seat handle I don't want to risk the Focus failing though, not sure how I'd get it to pass without replacing with a pattern one and remapping again.  I know it'll never pass after the April changes but that'll be someone elses problem next year, or they may have a friendly tester, my mate had done it for the last 2 years but he's moved away now.  Everything else is fine as far as I know, though the edgewear on the rear tyres (after rotation) could be risky and down to discretion.

Absolute max of £6k which is what my current Focus cost just over 2 years ago, facelift Titanium spec with a few nice options and only 46k miles.  It doesn't look like I'll get anything 'better' over all in that budget though.  I reckon I'll probably get something older and cheaper and diesel (maybe 1.9PD Mk5 Golf for example) for the next year until the Ecoboosts or TSIs drop in price.

Maybe you should just get an old petrol Focus for a year, drive it a bit and sell it a year later for not far off what you paid for it.

Been there, done that, it doesn't work.  What basically happens is that something catastrophically breaks, you lose a load of money and all confidence in it and wish you'd just bought something newer lol. I wouldn't go any older than I've already got now, but even sticking with Mk2, for a 1.6 99bhp it's like 35-40mpg and £185 tax!  Just couldn't afford to run it, I'd go for diesel any day before DPFs were added.  Tbh I want a change from the Mk2 Focus now anyway, if I got another I'd always be thinking about how the 'old one' was in better condition or had better options etc lol.

my ecoboost is only worth 6k according to the valuation sites.
for the sake of £40ish i would just take it for an mot and see what happens. i assume you have an engine undertray fitted?
what changes are happening in april?

Works for me!  I bought the 2005 Nissan Primera for £300 with 10 months MOT and we kept it for approximately 7 months, and all I did in that time was put four winter tyres on it (voluntarily, the existing tyres were still fine) and get it one oil change.

The current MK1 Focus cost £190 and so far we've had it for over 4 months and done almost 4,000 miles.  How much have I spent on it?  Absolutely nothing, just petrol!
