A Couple Of Questions From An Old Newbie

Featured Replies

Can I fit 17" 215-45 Focus ST 170 wheels on my Fiesta 1.0 Zetec with no problems (studs are the same pcd) and should I be seeing a frost warning on my display ? I have the temp showing but not very accurately this morning showing 3 deg with the screen and surrounding area frosted over. Thanks in advance.

Mac

I don't know about the wheels but the frost warning is correct, I think they always come on if the temp is 4 degrees C or below.

+ 1 on the frost / ice warning ( amber then red )

Thanks for the replies, it looks like my low temp sensor is u/s or missing.

Frost warning goes red when at 1°or 0°I believe?

Yes I think it's at 0 degrees. It's a good warning light to have, but I bet a lot of people think they can drive like normal even when the light isn't on, if they don't know how ineffective summer tyres are below around 7 degrees.

I can't find the low temp sensor but I have a part number 15A022. The ambient air sensor is behind the front bumper as is supposed to be the low temp one. If I have time this weekend I will remove the bumper for a proper look.

I would have thought there would be no need for a separate low temp sensor if the standard temp sensor can be used, or maybe it's just added for extra safety in case the other one fails?

Not in here it isn't. Shines 6 months non stop, very pesky to watch all the time. Changing spike tires in fall, gives enough indication that it is going to be slippery for a while :)

Yeah it probably gets quite annoying when it's cold for most of the year.

Can anyone identify these switches /sensors? On bonnet locking catch. One might be the alarm but not both.
