TomsFocus
So, I'm coming up to a year of ownership of my Focus on Wednesday and am interested to work out how much it's cost me in that time. I have kept receipts and records of everything spent, inc fuel, servicing, repairs, mods etc for the Focus... But before I work it out, want something to compare to! So how much has your Focus cost per year or per month (pointless comparison if its just random lengths of time lol). Any Focus, any year, any engine... But not including purchase price or estimated deprecation. Think we may be surprised lol... Cheers Tom
iantt
had mine 12 months on 1st oct , 10k, £900 fuel approx £144 insurance £20 car tax £28 servicing(air, oil filter, 3 spark plugs) £300 bluefin £35 retrofit cruise/speed limiter £65 retrofit autolights/wipers £0 retrofit hill launch assist/ tyre delation detection £1492 this year next year fuel and 4 tyres
simcor
£2580 as a rough ballpark figure. Fuel cost roughly £1650 a year. Plus £275 on my diagnostics equipment so that is effectively a cost too. That is also doing all the work myself. So I am really hoping the cost this next year will be better. Includes MOT and tyres, Lower control arms, turbo cartridge then complete turbo, intercooler hose, egr cooler and egr valve from memory. That does not include the cost of the glow plugs being replaced as they were done under warranty. Plus £260 for insurance, £110 for tax as well plus some odd amounts for little bits and bobs, £25 for a window when I had to break it due to some pillock locking my keys in the boot for me, £11 for door trim replacement plus probably about £50 on other bits and bobs like new bolts exhaust band clamp and jubilee clips etc. So all in all I reckon £3311 this last year.

artscot79
I must admit she didn't argue with upgrading the Visteon stereo to the Sony unit since the kids like a boogie in the back lol or with the speaker upgrade and nearly being wiped out by a transit overtaking 6 cars on a bend justified the dash cam some other mods were really cheap.....or at least that's what she believes lol Credit where its due its a heck of a list Lenny and looks stunning if my car was newer IDE be copying many of those mods but now its going to the new car fund for next year

TomsFocus
Well, I've owned the Focus a year today! (That's quite an achievement for me ha!). So, some stats - I've covered 10,422 miles. Put 790.88 litres of diesel into the tank costing £862.63. The years actual MPG average is 56.7. The years trip computer average is 57.4, surprisingly accurate. Costs over the year: Mods - £48.37 Cleaning products - £49.11 Servicing (one major, one minor) - £130.94 4 Tyres - £237.75 Tracking (x2) - £71.99 Cruise Control Retrofit (new wheel and airbag cover) - £147.01 minus old wheel sale £15 - £132.01 Aftermarket DPF - £199.98 Front pad and disc change - £91.85 New Alloy - £50 Tax - £30 Insurance - £372.06 RAC - £56.88 Reverse Light Switch - £8.34 So with the fuel as well, that totals as = £2341.91 Or £195.96 a month. Or 22 pence per mile, Not bad considering just under half of that is fuel tbh! Must admit, I thought it was going to be worse than that, and most of those costs would've been similar with most cars, DPF and cruise wheel are the only specific costs really, I couldn't be without the cruise control so that was worth it for me. The DPF not so much, in hindsight I wish I'd spent the money on a removal remap as I doubt I'll have that sort of money 'spare' again for a while.
Lenny
If you gutted the dpf would get 68.2Mpg that's my figure at present and only difference between cars I can see is that you have dpf just saying 👐
