Gear changing help!

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've just purchased a new Fiesta 999 ecoboost and I'm finding the gear changing a little strange in terms of when to change gear!!

Is it strange that I'm still in 3rd at 30mph and 4th at around 35/40mph?!

I love the car and appreciate that we've been and still are driving an ST Focus!!

Im not a mechanically minded person and all the gear talk baffles me in terms of ratios etc etc!!!!

Any help would be appreciated to this head scratching old man lol!!!!!

Thanks

Sounds normal thats how i felt when i got my first fiesta ecoboost u will get use to it

The gearing is very high in this model.   You will get used to it though.   I soon stopped trying to get into 5th in town and actually found that mpg was better in 4th.
