Oh dear god this kettle of nasty poisenous fish. Been here done this and my god did i really f**k it up, i sprayed all mine up properly primer lacker etc and on the doorhandles it wore off with in a few days.

Funny thing is i was thinking what id like for my birthday and its to have the trim re-painted or and this is what im going to be looking into is getting the door handles/ side trims and bumper trims of a st170 unpainted (just primied) because these are trim prices designed to be painted up.

Dont do a bodge job in the garage mate chances are something will go wrong!

doesnt matter how its done it will eventually wear off the handles especially to do it right they need 2 coats of plastic primer and at least 3/4 coats of paint and a good few coats of laquer but professional laquer not the Halfords stuff leave 1 day between the primer and applying the paint then apply the paint one very light coat then a second at least an hour later finish with the 3rd coat this is where irt differs with the final top coat still tacky you apply the laquer thin and evenly so that they bond after an hour you apply another coat of laquer half an hour after that the 3rd coat of laquer then leave it to harden for at least 24 hours same applies to the side strips and the colour wont be exact it will be a shade lighter as it needs to weather for a good few months done my mates punto 4 years ago and the paint is still on it unchipped and not flaking

The side trims etc are weathering in nicley its just the door handles that are f***ed was thinking about buying some chrome covers as a quick fix but think theyd look absoutly !Removed!.

Im trying to find somewhere that will strip the paint of them and do a professional re-spray on it all just to really finish it all of nicley with a big bow and maybe even the bootlid trim still cant make my mind up about that hmm.
