Eac Failure Display

I have a Fiesta 1.25i Climate (3 doors). Two weeks ago a major problem appeared which my local Ford Garage have been unable to cure ( through no fault of theirs)

The car feels as if it is being driven against a force field and , every so often, the error message EAC failure appears and the car slows right down. On turning the engine on again the car drives OK, but not not on all occasions.

The error messages appeared to indicate a suspected electronic failure (as identified by the AA).This was checked by the garage.

The car has been recently serviced, is 5 years old with 49k on the clock.

The garage have carried out extensive test but cannot locate the problem. In desperation they replaced the accelerator pedal. This has not cured the problem.

The desperation is caused by the fact that the problem is intermittent. This is like 'catch 22'. The garage say that they cannot cure the problem until they identify the cause. The message is to drive the car until a meaningful error message appears. Perhaps on the the M25?

Can anyone help?

this is a common problem on the fiesta and ford are struggling to cure it, a lot of the times it is down to a fault in the main wiring loom.
