New Mobius dashcam (V.3) has arrived today. I purchased the Camera, Mount, Piggyback and Hard-wire kit from 4 different sellers. Today the Camera, Mount and Piggyback all arrived - just waiting for the hardwire kit now. All took only 10 days to arrive (placed order 20th March, delivered 30th March)

pretty good delivery dates. I have the older mobius hardwired in and its a great cam. please do post up your installation pics and let us know how the new version turns out as I'm thinking of getting one for the rear view window. Great quality from a little camera though. :)

Mobius has fully charged, popped the 32gb MicroSD card in, connected to PC. Opened/ran mSetup, camera detected. Was advised Firmware update is available, so i've updated from v1.20 to v2.33

Any tips on the ideal settings to use in mSetup - there are so many! lol

Here's some screenshots of how I've set mine up. You only need to change settings in the first 3 tabs, although the misc settings probably don't matter unless you want to use motion detection for some reason.

You can play with the advanced image settings if you want, but it seems to work fine with the default settings.

And I finally got round to replacing the dodgy lens in my new Mobius with the ok lens from the old camera. It was a bit fiddly, especially because the used the smallest screws known to man. Also the lenses don't seem to be the exact same size, but luckily the lens fit into my new camera, although now the old camera is a bit useless because I can't even close the case with the lens in lol. I might have to cut out some plastic to get the lens to fit.

But first I need to try and fix the problem with the lens itself, and I have a new sensor to fit into the lens. Has anyone opened a Mobius lens before?

Ah yes, must remember to select rotate video 180 degrees. As when fixing to windscreen, the heat sinks will be "underneath" meaning the camera would have been flipped 180 degrees.

Just a quick question with the loop recording, i've set mine to 5 minutes clips. Say the 32gb card was near capacity, it would over write the very FIRST recording file, then onto the second, and so on?

Right i've just been sat in the car, have a mess around with the Mobius. Thankfully I didn't stick the mount permanently (used PVC tape), just to hold it while I took some sample videos.

As you can see, looks like a nice set-up and can't really notice it from outside the vehicle. That's until I plugged into my table via OTG

The bleeding plastic casing for the City Stop camera is in the way:

For others who have all the sensors in the windscreen... plus have the Active City Stop camera, where is it suitable to mount the Mobius from inside the vehicle? As I did have it set-up like so:

I had a similar problem with the rain sensor being in the way, so I moved mine a bit further down the windscreen and maybe an inch to the left of where yours is. There is still a little bit of the plastic appearing on the right of the videos, but it's acceptable. A better option might be to attach it to the underside of the trim around the active stop camera, and the velcro should help with that.

You wouldn't mind sharing a photo of your set-up please? Via PM if you prefer.

Here's a photo I posted before, although you can't see exactly where it's attached. I'll take another photo from further back tomorrow if I remember.

Still waiting for my bleeding hard-wire kit - lol.

Just a question for all current Mobius users. Are we leaving our camera's in the vehicle when parking up for the night? I'm only curious because I have to either mount mine as per the post above, due to the simple fact of the plastic casing surround (Rain sensors / ActiveCityStop) which would make it more visible. Or I will have to attach it to the underside of the trim around the active stop camera, which basically means the Mobius will be literally smack bang in the middle of the wind screen.

My cameras generally get left in situ - to change settings with the app you need to connect your camera to a PC so it needs to be removable.

The sticky mount (not suction) makes the camera a bit shorter.

I also leave mine in the car, and set it to record if I won't be away from the car for too long. Then if I come back to find a dent in the car I hopefully have evidence of who the culprit is. I don't know if thieves would even notice the camera, or think it's worth enough for them to smash the window and take it.

Hi Phil, am I right in thinking that you have set your camera - to continue recording say "x" amount of minutes after ignition has turned off?

No I have mine set to stop recording when ignition turns off, but that might be a good idea because I sometimes forget to set it recording again.

Ok, I understand you have yours to STOP recording, once you've turned the ignition off. But what happens when you turn your ignition on, have you not got your Mobius setup to START recording when the ignition is turned on? I'm only asking because you said "I sometimes forget to set it recording again" I do see on your settings screenshot, you have the "Power on - Auto record : both" option selected?

That setting at "both" means it will auto record on external power, and when you press the power button and turn on manually.

I think Phil means once he's stopped and ignition off, he turns the camera back on manually and let's it run off the battery?

That might make sense, for example... Phil parks car up, turns ignition off... but camera continues recording (from it's own battery). Which will continue to record until the camera's battery has died? Are we correct?

No, if you start on external power, switching the ignition off will turn the camera off.

I'm suggesting Phil probably turns it back on with the power button after its gone off, and it then runs on its internal battery.

I installed/hard wired my mobius earlier this week, took about 30mins (thanks to the advice from other forum members).

Mine is mounted using a suction cup and sits up behind the rear view mirror.

Because the suction mount is positioned under the rain sensor the camera isn't that noticeable from outside - you have to go looking to see it.

Sorry, I was dumb having a moment. (lol)

As I'm, currently ploughing through a huge amount of SAP paperwork. Part of my brain is with FOC, while the other is with SAP ERP

Photo of this please? I don't have suction cup, I've got a fixing mount. But it would be good to see some other set-up's from other members.

I'll take some photos later, forgot to say that I have set my cam to auto record on ignition on/off that way I just forget about it.

Only time I have to remove camera is if I need to change settings, I bought a micro usb OTG cable (£1 ebay) so I can view/copy videos onto my smartphone.
