ChronowerX_GT
Hi, I've got a Fiesta Mk7 with the 140bhp 1.0 Ecoboost engine. I'm looking to do some modifications to extract more power. I've read that it can be mapped with no further modifications to around 160bhp by Revo. What's more interesting to me though is the stage 2 map that takes it to about 180bhp. In order to achieve this, it seems that I have to upgrade the air panel, exhaust and intercooler. My question, would the exhaust and intercooler from a ST be able to be fitted to the car and would it be sufficient for the stage 2 remap. Obviously, I don't want to start throwing massive money at the car and I would assume that stock ST parts would be easier and cheaper to come by than aftermarket. Thanks. Dan140
I don't know for sure but seeing as the ST uses a very different motor I'd be surprised if the parts are a direct fit to the 1.0. Where there's a will there is a way as they say but I think ultimately you'll save yourself a whole lot of hassle by saving up and getting the correct parts for what you are trying to do. There's an old adage in car modification circles which is you can pick two out of the following, but not all 3: Fast, Reliable, Cheap. There are very very rare exceptions but it's a good rule of thumb to apply when trying to extract more power from your motor. At 180bhp you'd probably be wanting to have some cash in the bank for a new clutch just in case as well, from what I've been able to gather on here. Bobr
You might also be needing a new gearbox.
ThaiFiesta
The exhaust won’t fit as the turbo is on the opposite side of the engine The intercooler could be made to fit with major modifications. Better off buying specific 1.0 parts.
ChronowerX_GT
Thanks for the replies. It’s probably not worth the effort then. With all the messing about and cost, it would probably be just worth getting an ST instead. I’ll probably just do a remap to about 155 for some lower down torque then.
