I do like this Ansio 43" Tower fan purchased from Amazon uk for our two daughters bedroom as the top hinge on there window has snapped when closing and I can't get anyone in to fix it at the moment due to COVID-19 🤷‍♂️ I can still open it on the lock setting which provides around half an inch of opening,

Picked up this fan then to keep them cool; has a remote control 3 wind modes and 6 speed settings, it's super quiet at low speed, it also oscillates inside the main housing; Link: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B082SZHH8Z/ref=dp_olp_new_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=new

I've also purchased a second remote for five pounds

Link: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B07NS6J2QM/ref=dp_olp_new_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=new

So they can both control it at night, has a programmable timer can activate for a set duration, highly recommended item.

I do like getting the all clear from the doctor further to a cancer scare.  Still got lots of problems in my life but at least now I've (hopefully) got a lot of time to deal with them.

  • I do like finally finishing a model kit I first started 5 and a half years ago.  It's a very special model that i was supposed to finish by the time the aircraft took her final flights across the UK

I do like having the choice tonight of watching football matches from 28 years ago or watching paint dry! So the question is.....

... Magnolia or Off White? 🤔

As you may have realised I'm not a football fan 😆

Me neither!!  Love the snooker but never been into football.

I do like seeing some very relevant, humorous fathers day cards on ebay this year!  I've just been reminded that it's only 2 weeks away so better buy a card at least...

Unfortunately I'm not sure my Dad would get the funny ones...he's not as cheerful and fun-loving as I am... :whistling:

Like selling a car smoothly today, got rid of an old Jeep we had with an injector fault. Got £400 for it which I don’t think is too bad!

I like an excuse to buy a new TV today. Took apart the existing one to try and fix an issue with the screen and actually made it worse...so got a new one on order.

Sounds like something I'd do

What are you going for?

A Samsung 50” 4K HD thing. I have had 3 Samsung TVs now and I have nothing bad to say about them so I will stick with what I know!

I don’t particularly like a massive TV. The one being replaced is 40” so this will feel like a big jump up. I certainly wouldn’t go much bigger than 50.

Good man 👍

I'd purchase Samsung aswell, all four TVs in my house are Samsung and all three of the family mobile phones, handy for controlling the televisions via "SmartThings" and mirror link, the open web browser is also ideal for sourcing media without using the apps

I don't think Mrs Turvey would have another Samsung! I like the remote setup and the software etc picture quality was on a par with everything else in Currys at the time.

This happened to ours a couple of years after getting it........ not got any worse in the last 3 years so apparently we don't need an upgrade! 🙄

I usually stick with LG as the picture is excellent (incidentally LG make a large percentage of flat screens used by other manufacturers) the one in the main bedroom is Toshiba and came with the bed.

Can agree. Got an LG TV in my room and dad is thinking of changing the Samsung TV in the living room for one as the operating speed is so slow which the LG beats

I'm still using an LED backlit LG TV from 2011...

Can't fault it all, works fine, decent remote layout (can operate by feel in the dark!) and the best thing is it can be fully switched on and off with the remote...  I guess there aren't any TVs with that feature due to efficiency regs these days?

I've got a Samsung 47" at the moment and aside from one thin black vertical line on the left hand side that is only occasionally visible it has been fine.  I bought it second hand and I think it's about 8 years old at least so cannot complain.  I've never had any problems with Samsungs including my last 2 phones which have been an S8+ which my mother now has and currently an S10+.

Only ever ended up with a Samsung TV in the first place as my Dad’s good pal bought one and then started to lose his sight, so he had to get a bigger one. He tried to give me the 36” inch for free but I convinced him to take £100 for it.

A year later, I had to convince him to take £150 for the 40” Samsung that he replaced it with and was now struggling to see. Unfortunately he died about 6 weeks ago, and I don’t think he ever bothered replacing that 40” one as he was pretty much blind by that point. Great guy.

LG also doesn't inject adverts and spy on your personal data like samsung does with their newer TVs AFAIK

Looks like Ricky from llf gave his car away. Sadly the winner of the car who's 23 has already put it up on sale. Getting some good money from that 😂. Easy a house deposit for that. Man I hope God helps me after university that he gets me in a good job and that I can invest in stuff 🙏

what would you invest in?

I do like my first attempt at ageing paper to decorate The Piston Broke Garage Bar 😆

Printed some old patent applications from the internet but didn't think they looked old enough. Found a way to age the paper using coffee and baking in the oven, it's not perfect but it'll do for the garage for now. If I get better copies I'll maybe frame them.

Might go into property investment. The thing is there's that uncertainty about what job I'll get after university, what my income will be etc so will have to see but I think it's sensible that I save for a deposit then look at saving for a nice car after whilst I'm single

get house first then car 🙂 you spend far more time in one than the other, plus having a bad car will only scare away the gold diggers 😉
