Things I do like

I do like using pay@pump at Tesco for the first time today...  Think it was successful, if not I've stolen £20 of diesel lol.

I do like getting the all clear from the doctor further to a cancer scare.  Still got lots of problems in my life but at least now I've (hopefully) got a lot of time to deal with them.

  • I do like finally finishing a model kit I first started 5 and a half years ago.  It's a very special model that i was supposed to finish by the time the aircraft took her final flights across the UK

I like it as I don't have to interact with anyone . Just press a button or two. Then Sanitise after .

Yeah, I've been using the BP app to avoid people but it's too unreliable.  Failed when I had 0 miles on range so had to go into shop and pay instead...decided not to bother any more.  Will be using Pay@Pump from now on!

If you're Tesco staff are the same as ours then I'm convinced that they like it too for the same reason 😅

I don't have a Smart TV.  Maybe I'll see if Amazon can deliver me one in the morning!

Seriously though, it is something I'm intending to buy once I've moved!

I've always bought my Samsung televisions on "laptopsdirect" saved alot compared to other places, arrived from Manchester to Republic of Ireland via DPD in three working days,

Then there's me who has to wait for a pump where I can choose to pay at till 😂. Hopefully because I got covid I'm immune to it now.

Lol I've been using Amazon prime video to watch some movies. Yesterday was watching Jack reacher.

Some people have reported getting it twice now.  Still unsure whether it laid dormant for a while and reappeared or whether they caught a different strain, but either way no-one can relax from covid rules until most of the population has been vaccinated.

I've had to use a manned till a couple of times this week for xmas gifts/cards (not everything can be bought online sadly!) and am constantly worried I'm in the incubation period now.  I'm dreading gift exchanges at xmas even more than usual this year!  Aerosol Dettol at the ready!

Aye. My daughter when young caught chicken pox twice.  We think because she got it so mild the first time her body never bothered to create strong antibodies.

Buy yourself a 12 ft slide and put it outside of your front door,

Then it's a fun way of passing over your present 🎁

My parents and siblings live almost 300km away and none of them want to see us at Christmas or anytime in the near future; despite Monaghan having the highest death toll per one hundred; my mother hand wrote us a letter to say not to bother coming up if restrictions are lifted along with a cheque for €20.00 to the five of us.🙁

My bank charges €10.00 to process a cheque, and I'm sure there's a fee for issuing one too;

I done better on Amazon; they refund me €67.45 for an order which hadn't arrived then it turned up at the door two days later; all for free then. 😋

I'm glad it doesn't feel like Christmas atall though; as €20.00 cheque with a letter of no welcome and the same last Christmas when there was no sign of covid just a wealthy begrudged family and having to tolerate my dad's polish "good time girl" where the English "eh how you say not very good" every time we attempted conversation was exhausting; especially when she has perfect English and is only there for free rent and a hefty inheritance.

I'm really looking forward to seeing my kids with there presents which I've worked hard in all weather and additional hours to provide them with and that's a real special reward for me; I beam from my chest on to each of there backs and dedicate my life to doing so; I don't look behind me as there's no chest or anything beaming on mine atall, even the job which I work six days per week four years running now; don't show any appreciation atall, but that's ok aslong as I don't feel that it's Christmas.

I got it really bad when I was young, might even be where my fear of illness came from.  Hopefully I'm protected now though...

Not a bad idea...   Going to need to rig up some sort of pulley system to receive though!

We're not a close family at all, suits me fine, no unnecessary touching and conversation lol.  Just the odd message now and then.  Yours sounds ideal for someone like me!

You sure she didn't get shingles? Hopefully that's the last time she'll get it again. What must of happened is the virus went dormant after her body fort it but must of reactivated when she was feeling low.

@tomfocus @TomsFocus I did some research on this but I think they said it's very little to get reinfected. If your body produces sufficient antibodies and and you have memory T cells then your body is able to fight back quicker when it comes again unless it's a different strain of covid.

I have to be honest I've had worse compared to covid. I'll admit it's been 9 days since I got symptoms and I'm still recovering but it's not like I've been bed bounded or had stomach issues which is my main worry.

If you don't mind me asking mate, for my own future reference; how is the covid19 virus impacting on you,

In the words of the famous "Live Line" talk show host "Joe Duffy" I would like to ask "how bad does it make you feel"🤔

My stomachs been really bad the last couple of weeks.  Aggrevated by anxiety possibly.  Been prescribed some pills for it but have been unable to take them due to risk of making it worse! (Common side effects of anti nausea pills are D&V!!)

I know you've mentioned Alka seltzer before but is there anything else you've tried before?  I tried Andrews Salts today but that wasn't successful.  After something 'natural' if possible.

To be honest it's not that bad. It's just it does take time to get back to normal. Currently my sinuses are opening back up and I just got an involuntary cough but thankfully I'm getting better. It's just generally the bad things I've experienced this year which adds to my misery.

@TomsFocus you could try ENO. To be honest all these things work for me unless it's like a placebo. I've tried Andrews and currently keep a bottle of water with Alka seltzer dissolved in it. I never drink it regularly but just like to have it just in case the unexpected happens where I start feeling sick. Thankfully that hardly happens.

Happens to me every day now.   Unfortunately attempting to try any sort of medication makes it worse though, placebo effect just doesn't work for me lol.

Remember these things don't instantly relax your stomach. You need the sodium bicarbonate to work on the stomach acids 👍

Yeah, but the act of trying to get it into my body triggers panic and causes more nausea so defeats the object lol.

Who names there son "Richard" when there surname is "Ryder" and everyone knows the short name for Richard is "*****" D to the K

😂 New guy in work called Richard Ryder,

Reminds me of the movie "Glad He Ate Her" it's the same but not the same atall, at the same time if y'all get me. 🤔

Best thing about working night shift is that you can get drunk by 11am instead of 11 p pm mmmm #FullTilt

Id like to dedicate this to all of the people posting in the satellite forum of boards.ie complaining that MTV and a number of UK channels have been scrambled due to Brexit,

Personally I have four sky DRX595 multiroom boxes with unsubscribed UK sky cards purchased from eBay UK, which makes me exempt from the scramble even though I'm in Ireland 👍

If it ain't working, that's the way you do it,
Log on to eBay UK and purchase an unsubscribed card for the UK sky TV .

Restore all lost channels for nothing and MTV

@TomsFocus if I remember you have an Xbox so you can watch Prime via the Xbox app from the MS store.

@BigLen I have an old Sky HD 1TB box and card still at my father's house if you need a spare? Hasn't been used in years so no idea if either will work though.

Thanks very much for your offer mate, but personally I've already got four multiroom box's fitted with unsubscribed UK cards fitted, the multiroom box's are smaller with no harddrive as one can't record unless subscribed,

Not alot of people over here know about using an unsubscribed UK sky card for a range of BBC's and channel 4, 5 and UTV over here.

The terabite box's are rare over here though; if you were to list it on eBay there worth over €100 to a subscription paying member, alot of people here are avoiding upgrade to skyQ because the Q's LNB blocks out the use of Freesat box's or pirate box's so the terabite box's are the ultimate here for subscriber's but I just use multiroom box's for Freeview; I don't have any subscriptions for television at the moment as Ive been working six days all year; and the kids mostly watch YouTube or the BBC's

Thanks very much for offering mate.👍
