I do like getting the all clear from the doctor further to a cancer scare.  Still got lots of problems in my life but at least now I've (hopefully) got a lot of time to deal with them.

  • I do like finally finishing a model kit I first started 5 and a half years ago.  It's a very special model that i was supposed to finish by the time the aircraft took her final flights across the UK

I do like...

Needed to speak to my GP so called at 8.30am, expecting to spend all morning and be 50th in queue. Got through straight away. Then was promised a 'call back', again expecting to wait all day, but was phoned back in 8 minutes!!

What on earth is the NHS coming to 🤣

Don't worry, NHS is failing in other areas .  Ive been waiting on a heart test since June last year. Was initially told 3-6months wait. Now when I rang recently was told " it is the NHS you know!! " No idea on timescale for test to see if my arteries are narrowed to the point of intervention. Considering going private if I dont hear of a date soon. I've investigated the cost of the scan and consultant.

I must just be lucky. I had a triple heart bypass a while back along with a mechanical valve replacement. Also, my podiatrist referred me last Thursday to the hospital vascular dept as I've issues with blood circulation in both legs due to constricted arteries. On the Friday, I was given an appointment for next week! Fingers crossed you'll be sorted soon, I know what a worry it is...

Just tell them you're an illegal immigrant and just got off the boat. You need a heart test, and you should have an appointment in less than 24 hours 😉

Cant fault the NHS in my area, went for a routine bloods, Iron came back at 3 should be 25 ish. Immediately set on the 2 week rule, scary fortnight but came back all clear been on iron tablets since and due a new set of bloods. Worst one was the CT Colonoscopy, filled you up with air and expected you not to ***** LOL.

Wait till you get a proper full colonoscopy - you can't trust a f*rt for 3 days after 🤣

I've had the routine one checking for bowel cancer etc. That was bad enough.

I've had bowel cancer, they're a very useful test!

On a lighter note, I changed the rear discs and pads on my Focus Mk4 today...... AND still have all my fingers 🤣

Took about an hour to do one side as the disc refused to come off the hub. Then I discovered that I've lent my 'wind back' kit to someone and not got it back. Managed to wind the piston back with pliers and a bit of swearing. The second side only took 25 minutes ! 👍

Tomorrow I get to play all over again when I do the front 😀. The brakes have lasted well, 32,000 miles and it's and automatic.

Which brand did you use @unofix if you don't mind me asking. Mine do not need done yet but it would be useful to know for the future, especially if they turn out to be very good or bad.

My original ones stop the car very well but a tremendous amount of Dust comes out of them and the Front Wheels don't last a week before they need cleaned.

Used 'Febi Bilstein' for both the discs and the pads. I've used them on my daughters Kuga with good results so thought I'd use them on mine.

Thanks, and nice price as well. My front ones are the smaller size so even cheaper than I thought.

Had the standard Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy the latter proved inconclusive so they went with the CT Colonoscopy, rubber bung and airline and all 😄

Least i avoided the MOVIPREP went with the new fruity stuff much better tasting if a little sweet.

I have Atrial Fibrillation - and was waiting for a cardioversion for months, then offered a cancellation, and took it with both hands !

We have just gone private for a spine operation on my wife - not cheap, but what price quality of life ?

I've had two colonoscopies - last one was in days of the screening result, and I had the results in less than a week.

Did you watch it on the big screen ?

I don't know what I had - but it was awful ! (But it worked...)

With the amount of old f*rts populating this form, I was thinking of starting a 'health' thread just for us' In fact... here it goes 😂

Yes I watch all procedures if possible, being stented then having them restretched 14 years later was amazing.

Pleased with myself today doing a bit of DIY.

Managed to get unsuite door to fit today and lock. Been a little delayed getting round to it. Job been waiting since aug 2010. I'm not one to be rushed where DIY is concerned. I have got better, floor tiles in kitchen nearly done and started that in Oct. Just got to finish off grouting and cupboard finishing boards need cutting. Should be done by begining of summer. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Did a double take on a couple next to me confused by the self scan till at Tesco's. I thought really, not that difficult. Then did another look at them and thought they looked familiar. I walked off and went to my car. As I drove off I saw them again and went to drive  past when the man looked back towards me to see him staring at me. We both recognised each other. Not seen them since they emigrated to Australia back in 2007!

Got some catching up to do before they go back.

Changing my Oil today and not finding bits of Oil Pump Wet Belt in the old Oil.

I have seen it said here that you need Muslin to filter the old Oil but the Sieve that I use is very fine, the kind you would use to dust Icing Sugar or sieve Flour. Anything small enough to get through that will make it to the Filter and get caught there.

The failures I have seen have very large bits that cause damage.

Taxed my bike for 6 months today and took it out for an hours ride 🎉. Filled up with petrol and blew up the tyres, all seemed well until I got home and the bike has developed a misfire when idling 🙁

I'm just hoping that it maybe the 'premium' petrol has not agreed with it 🤔

Driver & car are both getting a bit old, battered and clapped out, but can still do quite well on a good day!
