A friend of ours had problems with her GP so got it booked on line on the Gov.Uk site. We never got a call for our second or third jabs either so just did it online once we were eligible.

Felt a sore throat developing, and a few 'flu like' aches & pains, did the dreaded test this morning and yes, +ve. At least I have been double jabbed and boosted so expect just to feel under the weather for a bit. Good excuse not to go out shopping though, every cloud, eh? LOL

Hopefully you have not been near your elderly mother in the last few days.

Thankfully, because of the price of petrol, I have been phoning everyday but only visiting now weekly (6 days ago now) She has been double jabbed and double boosted so even if she did get it, should be well protected...

Mrs and I (both double jabbed and boosted) both had it a short while back, as I've mentioned elsewhere.

We had slightly different symptoms - she was more flu-like but it passed in a couple of days, while I had bad cold-like symptoms which persisted for about 10 days. Both fine now though, hope you soon get over it!

There will NEVER be another lockdown, because to work, it needs citizen consent - that ship has long sailed...

“NEVER” 😜

I was thinking things seem to have been pretty quiet lately on how our Swedish friends fared overall. Couldn't seem to find much about it at all, but I did come across this:

If you haven't seen it on the news today, there is a new version of the vaccine coming out.

Yep, widely publicised, a specific 'omicron' version. Being over 50 (well over LOL) it'll be offered soon as the winter booster, though having just gotten over a bout of Covid, unsure yet if I'll take it as the antibodies gained from actually having it are much better than any vaccine.

Glad to see you've got over it!😀 There does seem to be a lot of uncertainty about how effective antibodies are after an omicron infection, and how long any immunity lasts. The Mrs and I recently had it also, as you know, but we're going for the belt and braces approach and will certainly be going for a booster💉, especially as the bi-valent Moderna vaccine has now got approval.

They can shoot it in my arm any time.

I will not be going any near another Moderna booster jab, I have had nothing but problems with eczema since I had one as my third booster shot. I will find somewere that is offering Pfizer jabs, as per my first jab and then two further booster shots, that I only had minor symptoms with.

That's the thing about any medication, it effects different people in different ways. Taking an Aspirin in many will cure a headache, in others, they'll end up in hospital with a severe allergy...

Yes, we've compared notes with a large circle of friends/relatives and there seems no pattern to it at all. My Mrs and I both had A-Z for the first two - zero reaction. I then had a Pfizer booster and was completely floored for a day or so. Mrs got Moderna - zero reaction again.

Two of our 75+ friends had Moderna for the fourth spring booster - one had a bad reaction, the other had nothing.

I still feel strongly that a possible bit of a reaction to vaccine is preferable to Covid. My  recent experience with a fairly mild bout of Covid was quite bad enough - I hate to think what the full-blown version might have been like without the vaccines.

Think my first two were the AstraZeneca one. Woke up at 2am the day after the first one with a mahoosive headache, necked a couple of paracetamol, sorted. The second one was fine.

The only other side effect I've had is a sore arm but I got that with pretty much every other injection I've ever had.

Lost count and can't remember if I've had 3 or 4 vaccines now but the last one was Pfizer and that was no bother either.

If they offer me another this winter, bring it on. Reward outweighs risk.

Not been called yet will probably get Flu and covid in each arm when they do.

On that subject, according to our Clinical Director Jason Leitch not everyone will be getting the new bivalent Moderna one because they will not be able to supply enough of them for everyone before the end of the year. The estimate is about half the number of the people eligible.

My own guess is that there will probably be supplies of the other types that have been delivered or ordered and our governments will not want to waste them as well.

In decades of getting a 'flu' jab, I have never queried what 'brand' it is! Nor in various cancer treatments have I ever queried what 'brand' medication is used. The one thing I regret in the aftermath of covid, is we have seemed to have raised a whole generation of desiring a designer brand of drug...

Theres a self destuct nano-bot built into the Moderna vax, when triggered  all those jabbed with it will drop down dead, Governments plans for population control. hahahahahahaa

They obviously didn't have you in mind when they took the decision to develop the new bivalent one.

If I may draw a car analogy...

Brembo make brake pads, Mintex make brake pads. There'll be some story that your cousin's Uncle's brother once fitted brand 'x', and when he braked, the car wouldn't stop, and he skidded on the motorway causing a 50 car pile up. So, brand 'x' is rubbish. In reality for the rest of us, no matter if you fitted Brembo, or Mintex, when you press the brake pedal approaching a set of traffic lights, your car will come to a halt.

As long as you've fitted decent branded tyres!
