vaccines benefit everyone, NHS workers should know better than to come out with the bullshit reasons they give for not having it.

I get what your saying but even from a young age "babies"  are vaccinated without question of our rights. Healthcare professionals you would like to think would accept the need to help protect themselves and the thousands they come into contact with throughout their careers, BUT the humans rights act is a massive get out clause not just in this instance.

Covid good news story! NHS waiting lists to start falling from March 2024 apparently.I’m so grateful for those lockdowns.Unfortunately my neighbour was deleted from the said waiting list, he died before he could receive any useful  treatment for his cancer,RIP.

I know we have both said on this thread before, but because of the governments mass hysteria in converting the NHS to the NCS, (and the inherent mistake of lockdowns without ANY scientific evidence) the number of deaths from undiagnosed/untreated cancer and heart disease, will dwarf those that died of Covid...

One study, maybe you are aware of;is that lockdowns saved 0.2% life’s.If true I think the cost definitely outweighs the benefits

People would still be dying in the 100's of thousands from Smallpox if anti-vaxxer's were about in the 1800's.

Even if that figure was 2.0% for lives saved by lockdowns, it will never justify the Suicides, long term mental heath, cancer and heart heart deaths caused. We will never know the true cost to the nations health but in 50 years time some top secret papers maybe released to show what really happened, but I very much doubt it.

For me,I think it shows that only the elites-think they can be trusted to act sensibly.

Fortunately, FaceBook wasn't so big then 😅

One of the biggest 'covid' announcements in over 2 years was made today when the PM stated that should current trends continue, ALL current covid restrictions in England will be retracted on February 21st.

Already I've heard a Labour member on radio demanding what evidence is this being done under. Made me smirk, as there was no evidence for them to be introduced in the first place...

Lol, if it was up to Max Headroom & Co we'd probably still be in lockdown and wearing facemasks in our own homes😀

As of midnight last night (15th February), ALL Covid restrictions in Northern Ireland were lifted, including the wearing of masks, and covid passports. I just can't describe the joy I felt on hearing the news.

Though this morning on doing some shopping, everyone was still wearing a mask! On asking staff in Home Bargains, they said they were waiting instructing from their head office on what to do (why, it wasn't head office that made them wear one in the 1st place!). The Asda check out lady said she hadn't heard, and a colleague (who wasn't wearing one) explained to her that the law had now changed. She immediately ripped it off, tossing it in the bin!

Yes, you can wear one if you want, though, you always could wear one if you wanted!

I'm guessing that 2 years of blanket advertising with a £700 Million spend will take some time to undo...

We should be so grateful to our government for the ridiculous locking down decisions with mandated restrictions. Not to mention all the businesses that went to the wall and now the backlog of NHS medical procedures. All the children’s mental health issues are also disturbing and we could go on.But hey, let’s look on the bright side-us and generations that haven’t be born yet can all look forward to paying for it.

Or we could have let the disease take free reign so were burning bodies in the streets.

You be listening to Prof Neil Ferguson again?? His prediction at the start of the Pandemic was 500,000 deaths in year one. Get a grip man, stop spreading this mass hysteria, and for goodness sake, start using some of your own common sense rather than melodramatic hypothetical!

Never heard of her LOL, and yes i think for myself. I've been here long enough to understand your strong, anti vax, mask,  government, boris etc position

How many died from the "spanish flu" and other virus's throughout the centuries although medicine has come on in leaps and bounds.

At some point your rabid position makes you look like the crazy person.

OMG Sir, I have NEVER been anti vax!! I am triple jabbed, quadruple if you count the flu. There you go, jumping in without all the facts!

Nope, if our government took the right decisions at the time, trusted us to evaluate  our own Covid risk-protect the elderly and vulnerable and let the rest of us carry on living instead of following China.Probably the same result without our lives been put on hold-historical levels of debt.

That might work for a small % of the population but the rest are a ignorant *****, so without some action it could have spread, hospitalised and killed more of the population, we will never know what could have happened.

Was that your view at the start of this or is it now with hindsight? It’s all very well sitting at home but you’re not in the position our elected leader are/were. What were the right decisions?

Did any country just get on with it? How are they fairing? Did any country get every decision right?

Yes, Sweden did, yes they had Covid deaths, but didn't lockdown their whole country to the extent that others did, never introduced 'covid passports', and didn't destroy their economy, didn't destroy their citizens mental health, didn't destroy their kids education... This isn't 'hindsight', plenty of us quoted their example at the time.

Yet their neighbour’s economy and employment figures faired slight better than the Swedes and their infection rate per 100 people and death rate per 100000 people was much lower than Swedens.

His prediction was based on the information they had at the time and his, and his team’s knowledge on the subject, he didn’t just pull a figure out of a hat, that figure was a estimate based on no action being taken, Action was taken so well never know if it would have happened, If you were running the country you would have been happy to take the chance?

Prof Neil Ferguson

Foot & mouth 2001 predicted 150,000 deaths, reality, >200.

BSE 2002 predicted  50,000, reality 177.

Bird flu 2005 predicted 150,000, reality 282.

Swine flu 2009, predicted 65,000, reality 457.

Covid 2020, predicted 500,000, reality >150,000.

I would respectfully suggest he actually has a mighty big hat he pulls figures out of!

You may like to be bossed around by our government and authorities,I don’t.We had a ridiculous situation where a couple were reprimanded for taking a walk in the middle of nowhere, people been told off for sitting on park benches, family members unable to go to funerals and the list goes on, not a society I wanted to live in.Our government should of trusted the people to be sensible and given guidance rather than mandating laws,we are not children. The first lockdown was just about justified because everyone was on a learning curve no jab was available and I reluctantly went along with it to protect care homes, that really went well-not and the NHS.

Which of those had no action taken against them?
