MK4 Mondeo Titanium X - Non DAB to DAB head unit install.

Hi there guys,

My 2007 Titanium X Mondeo currently has the non DAB Sony head unit seen in the enclosed photograph.

The discs inside it are stuck, I know it's easy enough to release them but a friend is breaking a Mondeo which is a year newer with the DAB version of the Sony unit also enclosed in these pictures!

Is it a straightforward head unit swap to get DAB up and running in my car or do I need other bits too and will it be a faff?

I want to swap out for a Ford head unit as opposed to another aftermarket one as I don't want to loose the Convers+ features and the ability to navigate phone book etc at the wheel.

Hope you can help!!

Del.

Yes you will need all the bits, the full radio and the DAB aerial modules.

Any idea of part numbers and where this module is located in the DAB equipped car?

Aerial DAB module will be located in the tailgate. I'm not 100% sure but I think that mondeo uses the heated rear window as the aerial.

This is the Ford parts catalouge:    https://ford.7zap.com/en/car/

They have a separate element in the rear heated screen for the dab aerial but flebay have alternative roof mounted factory replacements with dab connections run the cable down the apost passenger side
