Last communication from my dealer was that my build had moved from July/August to September with potential delivery around October/November. Ordered a 1.5 Diesel Automatic ST Line Vignale back on 17th of Feb.

 

with the influx of new 72 plate cars I decided to bite the bullet and sell my BMW F32 before the price drops any more on it. After three years of ownership I lost £750 on what I paid for it.

 

will be driving my wife’s car until I get my focus which I ***** hope will be this year! But it’s great to see people starting to take delivery of their cars.

Got a call on behalf of Ford telling me the new Focus is available with different trims engines etc. and they could help me get in touch with a dealer or arrange a test drive. If they’re making these kind of calls to sell the car again surely it’s a good sign for production? Also finally saw a few in the wild now but not got a proper look at them yet.

 

Is it just standard sized registration plates (UK) on the car? I have a private plate and need to order it for when mine arrives

I was living in hope things were looking up as well.  Spoke to sales manager today at my dealer to see when order books were reopening (I have an order in with dealer placed in early May when factory orders were closed) he said he was told unofficially today that ordering was expected to reopen late Oct - early Nov, but this may change dependant how production goes..  So still a long wait to have an official order..

You can have any size plate as long as it fits your reg spaced correctly.  So if your private number is shorter than a standard number you can have a shortened plate.  For example a standard plate is around 24" long, if you have a 5 digit number (D2 ABC) you can get away with around 13" and a  6 digit (D22 ABC) will fit on a 16" plate.

"Edit" got confused, standard plate is 20.5" not 24".

Any body with a fresh 72 plate 4.5 here? 

Email from dealer this morning (Arnold Clark) saying they are expecting an update from Ford tomorrow and will endeavour to contact all customers that are waiting on their orders. My dealer is as much in the dark as we are to be honest as he acknowledged that communication directly from Ford has been very unsatisfactory.

That's the problem, even the dealers aren't getting told and Ford don't seem to care..

And there was me thinking we would see a load of photos of shiny new 4.5s on our forum 😜

Hi guys, talked to my dealer today. No news yet about my order (no vin or build number yet), might have more news next week. However, he told me that they spoke with Ford and they told them that all cars should be built until November regardless of their engine/gearbox/equiment selections under normal circumstances of course. The other thing is that Ford seems to be prioritzing right hand drive orders (so mostly UK and IRL) although he doesn't know the exact reasoning behind this. In any case, this is good news for for most people here!

Just heard that my ST-Line Vignale 155 Mhev has arrived at the dealer today, ordered at the end of December.  Popping up to see it tomorrow.

Well my wait is over. 

Leaving the "old" and taking the new home. 

After a big talk dealer said the same thing, Ford is prioritasing the most profitable orders and leaving others. 

 

And the diferences between the two not always smile for the new one. 

Boot cover In the mk3,5 is way better, slides In a "trail" and In the new that dont even exist, looks suspended. No submarine ligths as well. The animation on the digital cluster its a beet random, not the most fluid thing i seen.

Not Wanting to bring your new car down, but l've got a new puma and it's dash animation is all over the place! - it never starts the same twice and when l start the car it normally completely 'crashes' - goes black again or freezes, then 're boots' it's self and then displays the clocks etc - bit annoying after you've had to drive off with no speed display or rev counter!.......

VW group dash screens are far superior to Fords effort...  It's certainly impressive to design something years after your rivals and somehow make it worse than theirs.

Well the Tit x is not available in the UK anymore - it's now the Vignale - but l'm sure the spec will be the same?....

Aye, very true! - quite disappointed in fords effort of a dash! - l think there may be gremlins in the dash board which may come to haunt us all in the future?!.......

But, ironically - my wife's tit x focus mk 4 digital dash seems to be a lot less crashy then my puma one is - even though they are identical!??......

Maybe not In the interior, where the action is😁

Happy to know that the mine isn't the only stupid dash from the family. 

If someone In Ford look to a dash from a 308 they will blush of emberassment... Another level.

Somehow, the materials are ,,better" on the Vignale, also you have as standard the leather seats, X doesn't have this

The 'proper' Vignale also got a leather covered dash, but the facelift Titanium Vignale doesn't. 

(Well, what passes for leather nowadays, it doesn't come from an animal.)

Eco friendly cows have also stopped using leather and have gone for a full body wrap. Cows are now available in any colour with advertisements sponsored by McDonald's 😉
