Stogies
I'm Devon & Cornwall for my sins. You still happy doing it?I was only in for a little over two years, literally completed my degree and all the rest of the Student phase. I would (and could, just to clear any possible 'were you bent' remarks that individuals tend to ask) go back, elsewhere though! Far far away from MerPol! Stoney871
Love the job even with all the cuts and lost posts. I work two dogs so I'm kept pretty busy.
Stogies
Ah great stuff, I spent two night shifts with a dog patrol and it was great to see how things are from their perspective. Enjoyed the pub walk throughs, didn't return to the station empty handed! :)

Stogies
My dual purpose search dog keeps the evidence lockers full, and the other one fills the cells pretty well. They're lovely dogs. The guy I was doubled up with had two also, we were attached with AR and the local Neighbourhood teams doing pub walks across the BCU as well as car stops in bid of cracking down on the spike of gun crime.Unfortunately it wasn't until we got to the last pub we learnt that his dog (other bobbies also) had been in that very pub months prior and was kicked/hit by the wonderful, snow-under-the-nose attendees. Needless to say; it was a known club/pub for ASB and drug taking. As per bossess orders, we attended in the end (surprisingly the boss had something important to deal with..), but the handler flat out refused to take the dog in until we had a big presence inside. I don't blame him either, but having seen the dogs in action you would have to be a moron to even attempt to harm one.
pugsley82
Retail Manager, definatly not exciting, but not bad money for an easy job
Stoney871
I work a mali and a springer. The springer is AES/drugs and the mali is PO/track trained but also does AR support. I was AR for a period but found the rules and regs were so biased that any lethal response would take my job and good name with it (and probably my liberty too). Happier with my role now, more variety and more autonomy.
