alexp999
Same box doesn't mean same ratios. Might even be axle ratio that is the only change. Has anyone tried looking on Etis to compare a 125 to 140?
Willy
Ones mine and ones a 140ps. Can you tell the difference?
alexp999
Do you have the axle ratio listed anywhere? On mine it has axle ratio right at the top in primary features.
Willy
how do you check that Just find a picture of a 140ps and pop the reg on this site https://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleRegSelector.do

alexp999
Not exactly sure how it works but it is effectively a final gear at the gearbox output which connects to the axles. So it looks like the main ratios are the same and they just change the ratio on the output shaft. (which will effectively change the ratio for all gears). alexp999
Bit of searching leads me to think it might be part of the differential that is fitted to the gearbox. So ask your contact to compare the diffs on the 125 and 140.

b1g_dav3
5 gears means you won't be doing 140mph down the motorway any time soon though which is a huge loss. That's the only reason obviously ;]
dfriel2
On 01/11/2015 at 6:31 PM, djs1972 said: Update on the Ford Fiesta 140 Black Superchips provided me with a slightly less aggressive map and I have been running this for 2 weeks without any faults. It does not feel that different from the 1st map in terms of performance, but it seems to be acting as it should. The turbo still glows if you give it W.O.T for some time just before you end your journey. I queried this with S/C's and they confirmed that it was fairly normal for the turbo's on these small engines to get hot (orange glow). I now try to ensure the last 5 minutes of my journeys are mild to avoid the possible later turbo issues. Fingers crossed no more fault codes or yellow dash spanner lights. How are you getting on with the Bluefin map now?? Still going well?? Superchips currently have a sale on, so it's tempting (even just for track events). Spikecast
HI - We are looking to trade our Corsa in towards a Fiesta in the coming months as we already have a 1.0 Ecoboost Focus (125) and really like the Ford's. Is it advisable to get the 125 version of the 1.0 EB over the standard version? Thanks.
Fry
Hi! Guys... This topic is awesome BUT now - I feel like crying. I am based in India and in 3 days I shall receive a new EcoSport with the EcoBoost 1.0 125. I bought the damn car - counting on a SuperChips remap which gives 156 bhp and 256 NM. No decent hot hatches in India unfortunately! I wanted the ecoboost engine too! Can somebody PLEASE give me details on the Manual Transmission box of the INDIAN Ecosport EcoBoost! I pray it is not this box - 5MTT170 - http://www.getrag.com/en/products/manualshift/manual_transmissions.html Max. Torque Capacity 170 Nm ! I thought that the clutch would be the limiting factor - not the actual transmission! If I get an ECU remap which gives me 256nm of Torque and the transmission is rated Max. Torque Capacity 170 Nm... Then what is going to happen ? How screwed am I? Max torque comes in first gear yes...but what does all this mean? Can I expect reasonable gains? Its too late to cancel my car now! I will put my car on a wheel dyno before & after the remap BUT this is very sad and it is misleading on SuperChips part! Please help me understand this! Thanks a TON! Enjoy the first world! kalnor
Hey everyone! Thought I'd wake up the thread. Has anyone remapped their 1.0 140bhp recently or experienced any issues with Superchips? I'm thinking of potentially remapping my Fiesta but I'm a bit wary because 165bhp seems like quite a lot of squeeze out of the 1.0. Also I've read tons of contradicting info about whether or not the Ford engineers can see if the ECU was remapped or not (after taking Superchips map off of course - warranty reasons.) What 0-60 improvement have you seen with the Superchips remap on the 140 model?
Willy
165bhp from the 1.0 isn't a problem. Lots of mappers off around that now. Mapping the car will void your engine warranty and there is a trace of a map even when it's removed. However it's unlikely you'll have an issues with Ford if ever you needed warranty work done on the car even with the map still on. Ford dealerships aren't really that bothered.
