Mad85
My 2007 1.6 tdci has been giving me trouble for a while... now im getting a rather unstable rev needle especially when cold and it does not sound so sweet. Torque is not very good and it does not pull away easily, especially anything more than a flat road. Also i noticed it gets much worst with the a/c on. The power seems to come in a little bunch at around 2200rpm and then it dies again. I dont like to have to rev it like a little 1.0 petrol to get somethibg out of it. Not sure if related but also noticed the power steering is quite heavy. I dont get any obvious whines but there is a noticable vibration in the previously quiet and relax interior. No errors are logged either. Things i have changed recently ... the turbo - had the power issue for a while so i tried fitting a remanufactured one - big mistake since it got a bit worst! Also I had the injectors cleaned up recently. Also had the dpf removed and cancelled the egr.
Mad85
One more thing .. i noticed that if the engine is cold, it takes a good 4 or 5seconds for the oil lamp to switch off.. that did not happen before. I checked and there is plenty of oil :) Thanks a lot Mark
Andy.B1971
Has it had a cambelt change ? 1 tooth out can cause uneven idle , poor acceleration etc ? A/C always drains a bit of umph on a lot of cars
Mad85
Hi, thanks for your reply. It had a cam belt change and a pulley changed less than 20000miles ago. I understand that should last around 100K miles! Anyway, I noticed its a bit cracked (i think its normal) but there is some oil stain on it, on the inside half of the belt - probably leaking from somewhere on top of it? could that be effecting it so much? Also, the A/c always drains a bit of power, I agree but I am pretty sure it got worst.
