BryzeMo
Hi Folks, just wondering if anyone else has had this issue.... Just recently when driving my 08 fiesta zetec s on a long journey my gear changing become really stiff. Changing gears first thing in the morning is perfect but once everything is warmed up im noticing a big big difference in changing into all the gears?? Its just really stiff to change. Would be greatful if anyone knows what the issue is and how to fix it. Many thanks Bryan Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
DieselPig
Could be the ball joints on the end of the cable(s) if you take the gaiter off the gear change lever and have a look at where the cables snap on to the levers. Try a splash of WD40 and see if that fixes it.
BryzeMo
Thanks DieselPig I found another thread where it might be the shift arm on the pivot shaft that need opened up slightly and greased. Apparently this is a common fault with the mk6 fiesta when everything gets warm. Gonna try these suggestions at the wend Thanks Bryan Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
BryzeMo
Just to update. I went and removed the shift lever and cleaned up the nylon bushes and also cleaned the pivot stem. Greased everything up and hay presto smooth gear changes. Thanks for ur help DieselPig.
