Things I Don't Like

Featured Replies

Things I don't like - the gronk at Tescos who hit my offside wing mirror with his trolley while I was stationary/parked at Tescos.

I was sitting inside the car (googling something, was right about to leave), and as I looked up I saw him speeding through my car and the car next to me with his trolley, he didn't even attempt to slow down, and bang.

Idiot didn't even stop to apologise or check if there was any damage and kept walking as if nothing had happened, so I blasted the horn which made him stop in his tracks. Got out and gave him a mouthful, and he finally apologised, I checked for damage (luckily there was none).

Guess what car he was driving too? A typical ***** car (brand new white Audi S3).

You're telling me you wouldn't gladly drive 12.5 hrs to see us lot? How dare you! lol

Silverstone is good for me too (just an hour's drive from where I am), but I suspect it will rule out anyone north of around B'mingham attending unless they really really want to attend lol

Generally dislike Christmas in all regards.
I tend to work every christmas and new year so don't tend to get much enjoyment out of the whole season.
Wife works it too so we tend to skip most of it.
May indulge with a couple of glasses of port and a decent cigar when time allows.
We'll be looking at a roast turkey dinner some time mid January but that's about it tbh.

Big respect to all emergency services personnel, especially those working over the festive period.

Thank you.

Nearly the furthest north you can get, but not quite 😉

Good thing no mark was there. Sounds like a more money than sense type of guy sadly. Probably was a young lad putting most of his monthly wages into the monthly instalments.

Actually not really - typically S3's are exclusively aggro boy racers around here, but it was a man in his 40's!

I don't particularly drink, barely once a month if that, but could get supplies .

Almost forgot this but one great big I don't like from Friday evening driving home.

The BMW driver who was doing a bomb down the road towards the small roundabout I joined. Obviously he didn't like the fact I had got out in front of him so sat on my rear bumper for the next ~500m's up the road. The whole length of the road both before and after where I had joined was 30mph which I was doing until I got fed up with him stuck right up my behind. Let off the accelerator until 20mph and just went along as normal. The short period that I was at 20mph passed a school and speed camera which at normal times is often busy and you'll never really go any faster. Obviously Mr Charlie Uniform November Tango didn't like this and was weaving in and out behind me until he made a stupid pass on a bridge with oncoming traffic before squeezing in front of me and brake checking me. The lovely person then flew off up the road only to sit at red light at the next traffic signals.

I bet it was a 1 series driver. If I were you I'd send the dash footage to the police. Sadly we have idiots like that on the road. At least you peed him off for a bit which is good and I hope he felt sad having to wait at a set of lights. Reminds of a 540i driver who used the left turn lane to go straight then cutting in front of me. He then went in the bus lane to undertake a few cars which stopped at a zebra crossing. Only ended up 3 cars in front of me at a set of lights 🙄. Another instance my dad had a 1 series driver cut in front who went in the middle of the road to get a few cars in front as he wasn't bothered to wait in the traffic like everyone. It's funny how most bad drivers are in BMWs.

I've had this a few times - more than with previous cars - where people seem utterly desperate to pass me, taking risks to do so, but once past, do not get much further. All I can think of is that the Mk 8 ST-L is even closer in appearance to the ST than the previous version, so they think they've overtaken an ST and get some childish satisfaction from it!😠

They're really good if it doesn't cancel (it normally does if you've cancelled, at the end of the period), or just to refund you if you forgot to cancel it.

Can you cancel online or do you have to phone somewhere?

I've seen something on Amazon but don't want to pay an extra 50% for delivery so tempted to try the prime trial...never done it before though!

I mentioned in a recent post that I signed up for Prime in error - easy to do when 90% of the screen seems to be "Yes to Prime" in some form of another. I found you can't actually cancel immediately as such, but you can stop it auto-renewing and charging you after the end of the free trial. It took a fair bit of searching to find how to do this, but managed in the end and my trial has now ended (hopefully). So yes you can do it online, but watch out - they keep sending emails asking if you are sure, etc, which contain boxes which you could easily press to cancel your cancellation!

Probably easier if you can to just add the odd extra item to make up the minimum order for free delivery which is usually £20!😀

I accidentally clicked on that at the beginning of December too - cheeky of them to design the web page to make you do it by accident.

Having said that, it's proving useful for ordering presents and it'll send me a reminder 3 days before it renews so I can cancel.

Hmm, ok thanks!  The item only costs a fiver, so don't really want to add £15 of extras lol.

Ha ha! I've had that problem. You search for hours to find that small, cheap  (but to you at the time, vital) item and then find the postage costs more. I've sometimes found it better to order several rather than pay the postage, on the basis that if it's small you'll probably lose one or more, anyway!😀

Problem solved, it sold out while I was dithering!

Returning home the other day we thought it was quite nice that the Parish Council had placed Xmas trees with "Merry Xmas" etc signs at the approaches to the village. I don't like finding this morning that some pill**k  has stolen them overnight and trashed the area!😠
