The plank deserves double kickings as he was driving a mk3 Mondeo.

Probably not long since got out of a Vectra...

Good Lord. I had at least consoled myself thinking it was a Corsa or something.

Poor Mondeo.

Pass on our best wishes to your parents Clive and if you need us to turn a blind eye when someone falls over just let us know

He's an agency driver and because he's failed to provide he will definitely lose his licence.

Cheers fella.

Luckily Mother still has good reflexes for an elderly person.

She managed to come to a complete stop before getting hit so thankfully reduced the impact.

Doesn't alter the fact that the moron hit them in the first place.

Good on those lads at West Country. Massive kudos to your guys.

Also echo Phil, pass on / keep put best wishes to your folks, and as for the agency driver, oh damn... Couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke eh?

Just hoping the car doesn't get written off.

Personalky I think it's repairable but until the garage takes a look all bets are off.

What a shame...

Sorry to hear about your parents Stoney, I hope they all turn out OK without any injuries. Perfect end result though, the tradies were a godsend it seems.

The scaffolders are getting a slab from me and a couple of tins of biscuits from Mother.

Wonder which they will enjoy most ;)

Depends what kind of biscuits!! I am quite partial to a Hobnob.

Biscuits come from a lovely old lady, beers come from a burly copper... They will enjoy the beer but I think the biscuits will have more impact.

Clive out of curiosity, how did the scaffolders get him to pull over. Where they flashing him till he did, or did they drive up behind him after he stopped and ripped his door open lol

Very true.

Yes let's hope it all turns out ok. At least it's good to know that one more dangerous driver has been removed from the roads, hopefully for a long time.

They cornered him at traffic lights about a mile down the road, piled out, surrounded him and took his keys.

I don't think he wanted to argue with 5 brawny scaffolders :d

I would have paid to witness that!

People jumping red lights

People determined to beat you pulling out/in at junctions, especially when it's clear after you

People still using mobile phones while driving

People not indicating, especially when pulling in

People taking up 2 spaces in car park because they can't be arsed to park properly

People not paying attention at traffic lights, holding others up

People waiting for traffic to come before pulling out at roundabouts/junctions

People using more road than they need to

People not using their headlights at night

People cycling at night with no lights

Scaffolders are a bit like chimpanzees... They're not the sharpest tools, but if you ended up in fight with a 'troop' of them, then you know you've stuffed up! But credit to them!!!

I don't mean to be "that guy" and I'm glad a dangerous driver is gone, however if he loses his licence it'll mean 'benefits benefits benefits"... Which I find equally sad...

Tough luck to him.

If he loses his licence then he just won't be able to do his 'chosen' job.

Plenty of jobs that don't require a driving licence.

Tbh as he failed to provide then he's basically admitting drinking, if he hadn't been drinking then why refuse?

Don't get me wrong, I agree and all, we just both know that 'other job's' are highly unlikely...

Safer just to take the guy out back and shoot him.

All that, plus people following vans around parked cars, thinking just because they can't see me coming then the road must be clear, causing me to slam on my brakes.

Legends. I think you should enquire about CCTV. Really good of them to get involved and definitely worthy of beers and biscuits. Sad your mum and dad got caught up in it but such an awesome ending.

How are they now it's been a few days?
