Things I Don't Like

I got in the car yesterday afternoon and just as I was about to put the key fob down noticed it was covered in bird *****. So I'm thinking how is that possible, then I notice my hand is covered in it too, and on getting out of the car I discover that there's a fresh one all over the drivers door handle :puke:

I guess it was soft and body temperature so I never even felt it. Fortunately I didn't touch anything inside the car but I can tell you there were a few choice expletives on the TimST2 driveway so apologies to all my neighbours :shy:

LOL - the censor puts stars instead of the word "p o o p". Cute.

I don't think our son likes ripping off his front spoiler yesterday! 😲 He'll maybe think twice about driving on grass in such a low car in the future 🙄

I had a very odd close call today...

I parked the ST a parking bay to look in some sofa shops with Mrs. TimST2. When we came back to the car there was a lady in a Nissan Juke waiting to parrallel park in front. Mrs. TimST2 jokingly pointed out the big scary tow bar on the back of it, so I stood by the front of my car (just in case). Long story short, the tow bar got within about a couple of inches of the front of the ST before I whacked the back of the Juke with my hand. It briefly paused then carried on! After more frantic whacking it finally stopped about a centimetre away

After she'd pulled forward, I walked round to her drivers door to offer to move my car before she tried again, and she totally blanked me! She got out, locked her car (with the front of it sticking out into the road), and walked off without paying

Thankfully you were there to prevent what seems like a certain bump. It just shows the mentality of people nowadays hence the reason why 90% of the time I stay in the car during chauffeuring duties.

On two separate occasions with my last Focus I had people park next to me and not leave enough gap to get of their car. One elderly woman blamed it on the wind ( it was a dry hot sunny day with no wind other than what came out of her mouth) the other one was a young chap in a sporty pile of rust but he moved it when he looked up and saw me looking at him shaking my head lol.

Yeah, and I can guarantee if I hadn't been there I wouldn't have come back to an apologetic note with contact details either.

The reason Mrs. TimST2 joked about it in the first place was because I had my previous Lotus Elise damaged twice by people driving into it while it was parked, and one of those times it looked like a tow bar might have been involved...

Has anyone else noticed how there seems to be various products about now with different names and prices...for an identical item!

I noticed this with recliner chairs a few weeks back, the majority of cheaper ones are made from the same frame, and several were even identical despite a large price discrepancy.  I've just found the same with TV units as well -

Lancaster £110 delivered - https://www.dunelm.com/product/lancaster-small-tv-stand-1000169396

Lancaster £88 delivered - Lancaster Cream Small TV (bigfurniturewarehouse.com)

Valencia £120 delivered - Valencia Wooden Small TV Stand In Cream With 1 Door | Furniture in Fashion

And my personal favourite, Fife £109 delivered, with an 'RRP' of £219!? - Fife Grey Small TV Cabinet | Grey | Self Assembly | Oak World

They're literally all exactly the same item.

Yes. Was in Homebase yesterday and noticed the Qualcast petrol mowers had identical twins albeit in name and a £30/ £50 price increase. Can't quite remember the name but it was Power.....something....

Good thing you were there. Some people are from a different planet sadly and don't know how to communicate with people.

In the mortgage broker I'm getting experience in I'm able to park just in front of the building and so can see from my desk. Thankfully sometimes the car parked on one side doesn't move as it's an employee of one of the shops.

I don't like finding out that Sainsburys now charge for tyre air!!  When did that start? 😮

Particularly annoying as I didn't have my wallet.

This weather!

A few weeks back I cleaned the wheel arches and treated some surface rust behind the side skirts. I also bought new wheel arch fixings from Ford to replace the rusty ones. Since then it's rained almost every day:ranting:

I need two dry days to rub down, repaint and fit the new fixings. Come on - it's May!

Don't like sitting on car park trying to get the seatbelt out as it keeps locking.😠

Waiting for another one to arrive and then battery off and fit.

Don't reel it back in after getting out.  Either hold it out while getting out and plug it back in, or tie something around the top of it so it can't retract any further.

I fixed it,i had no option to take it apart as it was stuck not even out a bit and amazing it works A1 and locks.

i dont like paying 80 euro delivery on three door frames, doors, handles hinges, twelve 3.5m lenghts of skirting and ten boxes of flooring only to realise when it all arrived that i had completly forgotten to order the flooring for the living room as part of that order lmao

so ive had to pay another delivery fee of 80 euro again to have another fourteen boxes of flooring delivered lol

what company you were using? 80eur for that 😮  i think with  https://www.parcelabc.fr/  would be cheaper

My upstairs boiler pipe is leaking and has blown the fan in the downstairs toilet.

I've stuffed towels round it and the plumber is coming tomorrow morning.

All sorted now, but it will take a while for the ceiling to dry out.  I can get a new vent-axia from Screwfix.

My vent axia fan  partialy not working. Fan works if you overide the humidity and light sensor.only 3 years old. Thought I would get another but none of the Screwfix, tool station, Wickes had the same replacement one in stock. So I emailed vent axia and they said 5 yr guarantee in my fan. So they sending out a new one. Result for a change.

I ain't that keen on screen protectors on mobile phones, these days the glass is that tough and my case is a good one with shock sides and lifted so if flat on the screen it don't touch the screen.

Never have a glass one again, had one on old 6s for years and taken it off to sell last month and like the glue stuck to the screen in places so sold it with marks on screen,is was a £10 one off Amazon....... Taken s20 plus one off and screen is so better and brighter.

The fact that my Mrs keeps hearing squeaks coming from the loft and its keeping her awake at night and I can't hear a thing............its driving her wappy 🙄

We have starlings nesting in the eaves above our bedroom waking us up at 5am every day :wallbash:

As soon as they've abandoned the nest I'm sealing up whatever gap they've found to get in. They'd better not have a second brood...

Funny that! We're doing up a bathroom and I had to go up in the attic to remove the old extractor fan and discovered a starling flying about and this.....

No eggs yet and not really a nest, just a collection of twigs, so I removed it.

Been getting in through a missing soffit vent, hopefully someone coming to replace them today.

Ha....we've had the Starling issue again this year and managed to fend them off with a combination of wire netting crunched up into a ball and rammed into the gaps under the roof tiles and joists.

Have been up in the loft this morning to see what delights have found their way in and it looks like Bees have taken a shine to it now.

Will leave them Bee 🤭for now and monitor there activities with a wifi camera for now.

I really don't like finishing work tonight at 23:00 get in to the car; start engine, turn on lights,

Drive out the gate and realise that both dipped beam bulbs aren't working, knower does the high beam unless I use it by holding it in,

So I've had to drive home holding the light stalk in to permanently activate the high beam,

I'll investigate further tomorrow morning; of all things to go wrong with the car though; I work evenings and nights I'll need the lights not like I can avoid driving at night. 🤷🏼‍♂️
