Don't like the new tablets I started today have given me a bad headache! I was prewarned that they could. That's why I only started them today so I didn't have a miserable Easter weekend.

Parents have been warning their children for years that using tablets too much would give them a headache. You should have listened to your Mother 🤣

Surely tables would only give you a sore head if you ran into them? 🤔😀

Yesterday I went out for a meal to celebrate my mums 73rd birthday.
It was a pub I hadn't been to before and my anxiety was up because of that.
I went along, had a couple of Peroni 0% beers and played a few games of pool with my nephew.

Food was ordered along with a starter platter which contained chicken strips, chicken drumsticks, onion rings and garlic ciabatta.

Now food is a huge issue for me and my anxiety but I decided to try the chicken strips and drumsticks as it has been a long time since I had chicken.
I actually enjoyed the taste but after a few minutes, my anxiety had other ideas.
I started to feel really hot and sweaty and like my stomach was churning.
I had to get up and leave the table and head outside to try and cool off.
My nephew followed me outside.
We sat at a table and I was ok for a few minutes. Unfortunately my stomach didn't want to co-operate and I ended up being ill over the floor.
Once I had stopped being ill, I felt really embarrassed and also guilty because there was now no way I'd be able to eat the 8oz gammon platter that had been ordered for me and paid for by my family.

I felt guilty because I felt I had now ruined her birthday celebration.

My nephew went back inside to explain to the family that I wasn't feeling well.
It was decided that he'd sit out the back with me and eat his meal whilst the rest of the family stayed inside.

My nephew also suffers from anxiety so he understood and he was also so calm and was trying to help me.
I told the bar staff what had happened and asked them if they had a bucket to wash down the little area outside where the event had happened.
The bar staff were amazing and understanding too.

Yesterday was a massive problem for me with my OCD, anxiety and emetophobia (if you don't know what that is, please look it up).

Oh, and before all this had taken place, the railway where I volunteer called to tell me that my driver experience on Thursday was cancelled due to staffing reasons.
So not only did the cancellation ruin my day along with the above, it also ruined Thursday for my friend and her 3 kids as they were coming on the trains as passengers whilst I drove.

Are you receiving treatment, i too suffer anxiety to the point of throwing up and panic attacks therapy and medication - long term Citalopram keeps me stable as long as life is good to me.

Unfortunately I'm not receiving any treatment.
I have had CBT in the past but it was not helpful at all.
Medications did not work and made the emetophobia even worse due to the side effects to the point where my GP prescribed me with liquid forms of medications at the lowest possible dose (2mcg) and also antiemetic tablets (which also didn't work).

If I wanted therapy now, I'd be waiting 2+ years for it due to the huge waiting lists in my area and a shortage of staff in the mental health team.
Also, the therapy teams in my area aren't equipped to handle autistic patients and referrals out of area to specialists are rare due to the costs involved.

Todays breakage wasn't electrical.  Shower door fell in half as I opened it. 😮  The top plastic bifold hinge had snapped in two.  That left an interesting predicament as I couldn't let go of the loose half without risking the bottom hinge as well.

Managed to precariously balance it and grab some picture wire from the tool box to wrap around the two halves of the hinge.  Not sure how long that'll hold though!  Surprisingly, I found what appears to be the correct hinge on eBay for £10 delivered, and it's just screwed in, so hopefully an easy fix when it arrives. 🤔

I don't like having to contact a company to complain that I still haven't received my order after 2 weeks.
Said company have been great and are arranging another order to be sent to me.
Package was sent by Royal Mail so it seems they have either lost it, stolen it or just can't be bothered to make the effort to deliver items anymore.
I've ordered a few times from them and never had an issue with deliveries.

The items are part of my uniform for the railway I volunteer at (replicas of era appropriate uniforms).
We don't have to wear uniforms (either railway branded or period costume) but I am choosing to wear era appropriate uniform when working the buffet, ticket office or ticket inspecting.
If I'm on casual duties, just hanging around or duties that may require getting a little dirty, I'll just wear my railway branded items instead.

Shower door hinge was indeed just screwed together.  Doesn't seem to be a great design but lasted 20 years so can't really complain.  I think the aluminium door frame has warped slightly which may be putting more strain through it now.  Hopefully the replacement will last a while...

Less than an hour later the tap handle broke...handle swivelled but no longer connected to the tap.  On closer inspection, the spline part inside has literally crumbled away. 😮  Hopefully get away with just a new handle for now, can't turn water off to replace the full tap due another pre-existing fault.

Pack it up with some cardboard and force the handle on  and it should last for a while.

The whole section with the splines has come off in chunks.  I've tightened the screw as much as possible but as it's only held together by screw pressure I doubt that'll last long.

Well, after having to re-tighten it twice in 24 hours, so much of the splined part had fallen out that the handle fouled on the spout and would no longer move at all.

Then I had a genius idea...  Swapped the cold tap handle onto the hot.  Problem solved!

(Not looking forward to teeth cleaning with hot water though. )

Can't you just order a new tap on your favourite amazon Prime?

Forgot to say Tom, you're a jinx LOL After working perfectly for over 30 years, my internal garage door handle just broke, on opening it up it was clear that the spring had simply snapped. What surprised me was that a replacement handle after all this time was widely available!

I'm too tight to pay for Prime.  I'll only buy things from amazon if they add up to £25 for the free delivery.

But yes, I have ordered a new pair of tap handles from eBay.  Should be here tomorrow hopefully.

Blimey, I can remember when we 'upgraded' to those exact handles at home!  Must have been late 90's.

1992 for those, as you already know, I don't change for the sake of 'fashion', if it works, that's fine with me. Function over form everytime 🤣

Pretty sure you can just buy the springs for them 🤔

Looks like the same handles as ours. Doors and handles being replaced slowly, 14 down, 3 to go!

I've got a broken handle the same style. 1992 house was built and guess the same handles. The broken one been like it for 5 + years. Luckily that door is one of a pair that stay open  between the dining room and lounge.  Staying open hides the handles( or lack of)

Tried to source, couldn't find. Still a pair of brand new handles were £12 Inc p&p, so not extortionate.
