Out of interest, I searched the difference in lines of longitude between Suffolk & NI earlier.  Turns out it's about 3 lines different.  And Unofix is on the same line as Stephen.

Orkney is another 4 lines above them!  No wonder it's cold up there. I didn't realise just how big Scotland actually is...

That's why a previous leader found she needed a big campervan to travel round it 🤣

It's been between 24oC and 27oC here in south Durham today. I'm about 8 miles inland from the coast.

If you look on a globe you can see that Orkney is about the same longitude as Stavanger and Oslo!

My friends live about 3.5 hrs north of Oslo and it was 27 C there today too. lol.

Lol, I guess there must be some sort of weather system (Jet Stream?) making it more complex than just North vs South.

It's already 29c in here today and it's not even 9am.

Hard to believe we're in the same 'country', it's 12c here and a bit mizzly LOL

Does anyone on here have a Nectar account linked to their eBay account?  If so, could you check the Nectar page and screenshot the part where it allows you to change or delete the card?  My Nectar account was disabled after being hacked (having an excellent month so far  ) and ebay acknowledges that on the Nectar page but I can't seem to see any way to change it now.

Heatwave is ongoing currently.  The lowest temp in my flat last night was 29c, outside already showing 27c despite some patchy cloud.  But the guys on the radio this morning keep going on about how it's going to end tomorrow and how everyone should use up their BBQ's, ice cream and summer clothes before it does.

I mean, that looks horrific tbh.  I'm guessing that's a country with the infrastructure to cope with the heat indoors though?

Not the UK with brick houses, black tiles rooves and no AC!

Lol just bareing the heat here in London 😂

I feel like this heat is pushing out the idiot in people. Just the other day from coming back from work I saw a few piles of rubbish bags left on the pavement between me and my neirbour. Dad told me someone dumped them there in the morning when all cars were gone from our driveways.

Mum saw a guy at 8:30 in the morning on the phone before another guy came and left them there. She was banging on the glass to tell them what they are doing and one just replied that he's not leaving them there.

Wish I looked into the bags for any address to the possible person and go there. Council picked the rubbish up next day.

Feel like I'm seeing a lot of stupidity now especially on my road and it makes me annoyed that I'm starting to not feel relaxed just staying in the comfort of my home. I hope I don't witness any of this stuff in person otherwise the authorities might get involved

All this moaning about temperature. I just sit outside naked in my Ecoboom with the aircon on 🤠

Now we know that's a big fat lie !! Everyone knows the aircon never works on a Focus 1.0 Ecoboom 🤣

Does anyone know if any true PAYG SIM still exists?  Hoping the O2 mast will be fixed soon but should really get a backup SIM in the meantime for my own safety.

I need one where you don't HAVE to top up every month as I'm an extremely low mobile user.  Always at home so use WiFi most of the time.

I'm on O2 Classic but that's gone now and obviously need something that doesn't piggyback O2.  Had read that EE do PAYG but just checked it - 20p per text seems like a p*sstake!  Especially when they force you to send at least one text every 3 months to keep the account alive and prevent losing the credit on the SIM.  (Something else to remember!)  Also says no access to data at all unless a monthly 'pack' is added.

Admit it Tom, you're now coming round to my way of thinking that mobile phones are little more than a legalised scam 🤣

I've always hated mobile phones, not sure I've ever said any different lol!

But they are yet another necessary evil of the modern world unfortunately, especially in my current situation.

yes mines technically PAYG £6.00 a month IDmobile cheaper ones are available Lebara is the cheapest i believe.

It's not proper PAYG if you have to pay every month.  I don't use £6 in a year, nevermind a month.

try the comparison sites ive seen as low as £4 a month with no fixed period

Kinda like PAYG for 4 x weeks, then stop, and restart again, then stop etc etc. 😂 Years ago I got my mum a PAYG phone, which she never used, and when she did want to use it, it was unserviceable as the PAYG SIM expired (despite having loads of credit on it)! I believe that genuine PAYG is not available in the form you seek, and the best you can hope for is spending around £50/year on a service that should cost you about £5 - like I say, mobile phones, legalised rip off...

Don't know if it's available to new customers now, but our mobiles are on PAYG (just top up when necessary) with Tesco Mobile. Even when we got them, it wasn't advertised, we had to ask specifically. Iirc the only requirement is to use the phone (make a call or send a text) within 6 months or the number "dies".

One of the phones is a very old Nokia which I just leave in the car for emergencies and I make a note to send a text to one of our other phones within the 6 months. Can't remember when I last topped that one up!

I don't think that will be available to new customers.  Every proper PAYG seems to have been removed in the past 5 years.  (Plus, Tesco piggyback O2 masts, so no use to me here.)

I've just checked my last top-up...  3 years ago.  I've used less than £1 per year in the last 3 years!  This tariff suits me fine, just frustrating I can't find out when or if the mast will be repaired.

Think the only option I'm left with is going for the expensive EE one above and just sticking the minimum credit on it for emergencies.  There didn't seem to be a monthly minimum top up for that.  Just have to remember to send a text every 3 months.  Don't like the idea of no data though.  If my wifi goes down I do need that for various things.
