Who are these comedians, so the rest of us can steer clear?😀

A certain company who uses the Ford name in their title and it was their Huddersfield showroom.

You should know better than to 'trust' a dealer with Ford in their name 🤣

Suspected it might be. Pal of mine has had poor experiences at their Castleford branch in the past.

In reply to both of you, I got my first Fiesta (17 plate ST-Line 140) from them but from their Wakefield branch (now closed) and didn't have any problems at all.
Then again, I never used any of the aftersales departments at Wakefield branch.

I was told by the guy who sold me the car that since a new manager took over in the servicing dept etc, they've had nothing but problems with cars coming out unprepped etc.

Yes, individual branches and even departments within a branch vary widely in big chains. My friend had a very good experience when buying his car, it went sour when he encountered the service dept.

He's had the same scenario with his current VW - sales were great, service woeful! Better than my experiences, though, when attempting to buy a car from a different branch of the same chain over several years. Total lack of interest - I'm still waiting for a promised test drive in a Mk 6 Golf!😀

I don't like not being able to sit out and relax in the garden because a neighbour thinks that everyone within a half mile radius needs to listen to their music!!! 🤬

It could be worse, it's only Radio 2 they're playing and the actual music isn't too obnoxious BUT I don't want to listen to it! Can even hear the bass in the house 🙄

Cut the grass yesterday but I could just go and start the mower and leave it running 😂

That's it, I pretend to cut the grass in the same place up against fence for a while in our garden if nextdoor are too noisy, they then retreat in to there conservatory to chat and play loud music.

Or if they have friends round with there dog, I wind our dog up and let it outside .   then both dogs barks through the fence until they give  up and go inside. I've many deterants to noisey neighbours. Water sprinkler on the grass is another, just a bit too much pressure and it goes over fence. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Getting fed up with the lack of mobile signal here now.  Did have a chuckle at this though...  Update me by text!?

And that's one of the reasons why I moved from EE. Their network always had issues and 2 out of 3 masts near me out of action a lot.

Am sure theres a coverage checker available, stating which networks are better. I'm on IDmobile which i understand runs on Vodafone rock solid 5 bars all day long.

Good point.  The coverage checkers don't take faulty masts into account unfortunately.  O2 had been fine for me up until now and still shows as good on their coverage checker.

Just used the Ofcom check here though - View mobile availability - Ofcom Checker

Results aren't great.  O2 still looks like the best option.

I guess that's going to be totally area specific?  EE is one of the providers I was considering.  Obviously needs to be one that doesn't piggyback from O2.  So that's only EE or Vodafone I think?

Tom, out of the many, many pet hates I have, mobile phone coverage is one. All claim to have 99% coverage, which is interchangeable on the day whether that is geographical coverage, or, population coverage. If population, on a number of 70 Million, that means that approaching 1 Million of us are screwed, I am one of that 1 Million.

I get no coverage at all at home, (not a total disaster as I can use WiFi), but I also get zero coverage at mums house (she's not online), or my GP (no WiFi), and even my local Lidl is so poor their app doesn't even open (No WiFi being a low cost operation).

You should download an app called, "Network Cell Info Lite", basically a signal meter for mobile phone signal. Easy to read with a graduated scale from red to green, with db number too.

It exposes that absolute LIE that all operators advertise, unless you live on top of a transmitter, signal coverage in UK is cr*p.

This is my home coverage, where web site states, 'excellent cover' yet you can clearly see I have virtually NO mobile cover.

We are sleep walking into an oblivion of mobile comms where everything is now reliant on our phones, which are less useful than a brick without a strong reliable signal. Yet I hear no outcry over this widespread con, apart from me blithering on about it, in addition with the loss of our simple landline analogue phone system. It's all quite funny, if it wasn't so absolutely serious...

Thanks Stephen.  I assume that app only shows your own provider?  I know there's nothing at all on my current provider so could really do with one that shows all local providers before switching.

I can't really understand why mobiles don't use satellite in low coverage areas.  If they've got GPS, they must be accessing some satellites already.

Sadly, yes. I have researched thoroughly to see if I can get a multiple provider app, but can't find one. If you stumble across one, let me know...

I don't like that my best friend (now ex-best friend) has decided that she doesn't want to be my friend anymore and wants nothing to do with me, even after we talked and tried to work things out a few days ago and things seemed ok.

All this is over a comment I made stupidly because I thought that we had a good enough and open friendship to be completely honest with each other.

I don't like seeing Stephen moan about the weather up North in the other thread.  I'm doing everything I can right now to try and keep my flat below 30c.  Would gladly swap!

No need for concern Tom, temperature has now shot right up to 14c 😂

You wouldn't want to know what temp my flat gets to then as one side has the sun on it for most of the day and the 2 rooms in main use always get very warm as their only windows face that way.
My little portable AC unit is on constantly now and even then the temp if I turn it off or on to fan mode is 28c or higher.

Peaked at 30.9c in the main room with the curtains closed, and 33c in the kitchen.  Forecast to be even hotter tomorrow.

Don't have a suitable vent space for a portable AC unit sadly. (I do own one, tried various methods to vent it but just not enough space & windows here.  Landlord would probably object to a 6" hole drilled through the brick wall.)
