I've just noticed the time :o and we haven't been for our nightly stroll yet

I hope she's not going bark at any of the night time animals, were likely to encounter

Haha, it's funny because that's the kind of alerts/warnings I would find very useful.

Fancy swapping for an '05 Primera?

Not really no but thanks for the offer. I like having the warning, what I don't like is being badgered constantly about it.

My Mk2.5 Focus doesn't have the screenwash low warning lol

As for depression, anxiety and stress - I found a combination of counselling and Citalopram helped massively!!

Is that what is known as cognitive behaviour therapy?

Citalopram has given me surreal mental image off a huge pram in the form of a citadel  :P

:oops: Wrong Thread :oops::iim:

I'm losing the plot now,

The above is in the right thread: it's me looking at a different thread, whilst posting it

It can come under that heading, yeah - I was lucky, I had a very good counsellor who adapted to my needs very well!! (She was also absolutely stunning :P but that's irrelevant - she really was good at her job lol)

And the Citalopram can induce some pretty surreal dreams - some err...adult in nature :D - or just absolutely awesome (I had one incredibly vivid dream which ran like an action movie)

I love this country, we get a fair bit of rain in the city and all the drivers turn into dung heads... Traffic piles up for some unknown reason... Yeh, it's raining... Have a feel for the roads but it's no reason for gridlock...

Then I get on the A38, dual carriageway, visibility above Road level is maybe 5-600 yards, at Road level it's less than 100... If you have your lights on that is....

Some twerp goes by in guess what? A corsa.. No lights on, the colour of his car? Well I'd say it was about the shade of "surface water spray silver, mixed with wet Road grey"... So all in all, he was invisible, I flashed him numerous times, as did others.. Yet the quarter wit couldn't acknowledge that he was the ONLY person with no lights on... What a complete (door) knob.

my wife is suffering anxiety and depression since this time last year when we almost lost our 2 month old son,

Last February see me kicked out of my own home and sleeping in car for a week,

Before she got help with it,

She's on seralin since but completely spaced like go out and forget to lock door,

Most recently threw 20 quid in bin along with a receipt from shopping.

had since come off tablets suddenly which isnit advised but is becoming increasingly hostile again

so this could be goodbye from lenny 😦

I won't know until cops turn up at my work place again to tell me im not aloud to home 😕

that's why my focus has tv tuner, DVD, wifi and PlayStation

with electric blanket 👌

I don't like the fact my car appears to have become invisible this morning... (Lights were on haha).

1. Old lady looks directly at my car a few yards away and decides to cross anyway

2. Lorry doing 50mph in the left lane, me doing 70 on cruise control in the fast lane about to overtake him, his indictator flashes once and he pulls straight across in front forcing me to brake and pull into the empty left hand lane

3. At a 4 way junction, I and a car opposite both indicating to turn the same way, right for me so technically he has right of way but I'd reached the junction first and he waited for so long I thought he was letting me go...then pulls out as my front bumper comes level with his, que another evasive manoeuvre!

4. On a large 3 lane roundabout, I'm in the middle lane to pull onto the fast lane of the dually, Astra in the slow outer lane drifts across into my lane with no indication - admittedly at this point I got annoyed and booted it across the 3rd lane and back in front of him lol.

5. Get back to our large empty car park...to find a courier van parked diagonally across the corner of the roadway so I had to scuff a bush slightly to get past.

Honestly I'm not sure if I'm being a 'donkey' or if other people are just completely lacking consideration or observation today!

My youngest brother was a clinical psychologist, who got bored with academia and went into the field, so to speak. All the counsellors he assisted, were absolutely stunning too - it's seems to go with job :P

That's not good Lenny :(

Perhaps her counsellor/GP can persuade to her resume taking it, or may be what Sean had, or something better :)

The answer is that far too many '' qualified '' drivers are as far from qualified to drive safely as it's possible to be . . .

The sooner 10, or even 5 year compulsory retesting is made law - the safer the roads will be for drivers that are really qualified to drive on them

It appears the idiots who were having a day out in Dorset last week, are in Suffolk today plus an odd one in a Corsa in Devon

I am confident that approximately 33% of all so called '' qualified '' drivers in the U.K. would fail a driving test if they had to take one tomorrow - bearing in mind that passing a driving test demonstrates the MINIMUM standard required to be allowed to drive unsupervised

I wonder how many the 33% figure would equate to numerically ? . . . 10's of thousands no doubt - if not more I suspect

Imagine how much safer our roads would be if at least 10,000 idiots were not driving on them & I use the term '' driving '' in it's loosest possible meaning

Clearly I saw the wrong CBT therapist then... Was hoping for a nice young girl...turned out to be a guy with nearly as many issues as myself! The CBT didn't work for me at all though...so I gave up for a few years (well, bigger things got in the way tbf). Recently started looking into 'help' again though, waiting for a psychologists appointment currently as I'm too broken for CBT now apparently...

Seeing as we're in this thread, I really don't like the fact so many people nowadays seem to have mental health issues. I don't even understand why...we haven't been conscripted to wars or sent to work the factories and fields at 13 like a century ago - what has happened to the younger generations brains!? :(

That is a very good point! I don't think retesting is the answer though, a lot of people fluke a test on the day even if they aren't great in reality, same as one silly mistake can ruin a whole test for someone who is otherwise a good driver. I don't know what a fairer way to do it would be though admittedly.

I usually see one or two a day...but 5 in one morning has to be a bit of a record. Now off out again as well...might get a flashing amber beacon for the roof...

Probably be quieter too... I'd be off the road knowing my luck...

Sorry to hear about that Lenny, I didn't realise things weren't great! Hope it all works out for you both!

On the same train of thought, although I may be alone here; I would also like to see VOSA implement 6 month MOTs for all car over 1 year.

Like the driving test our MOT is very minimal compared to say, the German one.

Or mirror the very thorough annual test the Germans have, if it is to remain yearly

I think the problem is that the driving test isn't fit for purpose in the first place.

I passed mine 2 years ago, and when I think back to how I drove then I'm surprised I didn't have multiple accidents.

Now I'm a very confident driver and after 2 years I consider myself a safe driver. But after my test I was technically qualified to drive on motorways doing speeds fast enough to kill both myself and other people. I wasn't, I feel I should have had someone instruction before using motorways.

Another thing is, I would say most people I come across do not know how to use a round about.

Is this just laziness or do does the driving test not stress the importance of correct lane use and indication?

^ Correct lane use is one that I think 99% of people on the road don't understand lol. Whenever I'm going round a bend where there are multiple lanes, or on a roundabout, I expect every other driver to drift towards me because that's what usually happens. I don't understand the thought process behind this, either there is no thought process or they think road markings are just there to make the road look nice.

There are too many idiots on the road. I'm hoping the police take further action on some I have reported. So far the police have requested the names and addresses of each individual reported and seem to be taking it further. I'm thinking of renaming my dashcam to 'the coppers eye'. Provide that footage to the police and now they seem rather proactive to kick peopley

I wouldn't have an issue with this if it didn't cost an arm and a leg and it actually meant something... And that garages wouldn't be standing there rubbing their hands with glee!

Jersey doesn't have mot's, or any kind of yearly checks. They have Road checks and if you get stopped then there are certain degrees in which you're allowed to drive on after the check, but have to turn up at the parish Hall to show the faults have been corrected....

...problem is the road checks are announced on the radio and every car flashes you to avoid them! Haha

I don't like bring the tree in from outside and the cats eyes lighting up. We've hidden the tree behind the curtain in the doorway (we live in a bungalow), and stacked the Base and Dec's next to it but so far I've caught them: IN one of the Dec's boxes, halfway up the tree despite the curtain and playing with a strip of the tinsel I decorate picture frames etc with (tree gets beads)

In partial response to James's observation above - one does not have to be driving at motorway speeds to kill yourself or others . . . it's easily possible to die in a 30 m.p.h. impact

Any half decent Driving Instructor can & should simulate higher speed motorway driving by using appropriate dual carriageways before the novice is presented for test & there's no reason why, sometime after a test success, the newly qualified driver cannot be given motorway tuition
