good morning all. fingers crossed you can help. ive a gti escort on a 97 plate i have one manjor issue with the car.

orginally it was perfect but over the past months it started to hunt went warming up i cleaned the icv and that didnt work so i thought i would leave it for now i know it is costing me fuel but i didnt have the time to get to ingrossed in it but now its seems to want to stick at 2000rpm in gears 1 2 and 3 if i get in to 4 and 5 it will lie just below.Some one mentioned my engine breather pipe could need a change?

any ideas ?

    Yes.

    Have a look at the breather pipe on the rear of the engine. These sometimes collapse on the bend.

    A cure would be a new pipe, or get a 1.8 zetec Focus one and take out the aluminum bend inside that nd put in yours.

    ok i tried a new hose today.But it didnt make a difference went i put it on but if i put my thumb slighty over a open end it stops hunting. any ideas peeps
