Lenny
Bit of a drive too be fair lenny but thanks for the offer... did you have website decals on your motor, or should i say your mrs car lol essex tints also do 3m carbon wrapping, I'm just working out what i want to get wrapped lol I was going to get the chrome bonnet strip done but want to get the strip off so that he can de-grease it properly so it lasts... could get the interior done, like the stereo surround done but i hate the fact you cant do the heated windscreen buttons, looks weird imho... I had been looking at having interior centre console hydro dipped carbon print, And I didn do it for the same reason as you; the push buttons would look out of place in silver, Now I've thought of an idea to get around this, Would cost up to 120 pounds to complete but flawless results. Get a dash panel from a breakers, Fill the sections with perspex Fill gaps and sand it smooth, Get it hydro dipped or wrapped carbon, Purchase some custom chrome back lit round push buttons like these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12V-Car-Black-Aluminum-Metal-Switch-LED-Push-Button-Latching-Push-On-Start-16mm-/301030332688?pt=UK_BOI_Electrical_Components_Supplies_ET&var=&hash=item4616ce5910 I've saw others with the specific window heater logos on them, Can easily be spliced in to function the stock heaters no problem, They will also match the custom climate control knobs already fitted to the dash, I reckon the job would look mint, :) Carbon and chrome like a Ferrari dash stick n a kill switch for the astetic pleasure too. alkyz89
Popped back up to Essex tints today to get the covex tints on the rear lights... Wasn't to keen on the idea before but had a think about it and went for it!!! Again a real professional job and it looks fantastic imho They worked wonders with the heat gun and I couldn't be happier... My only concern is when it comes to washing it lol Probably won't be able to get any decent pics until next weekend with these dark evenings but will try soon.

Nighthawk
55% on the fronts? That doesn't sound very safe/legal. Sent from my HUAWEI P2 using Ford OC mobile app
alkyz89
Well technically the law is you can't have any tints on any fronts windows as of 2004 i believe... Ask any tinting firm!
alkyz89
But it sounds a lot it's actually not... And it's no worse than wearing sun glasses I guess
Nighthawk
Well I don't think you'd get a £60 fine and 3 points on your licence for wearing sunglasses also I hope your not stupid enough to wear sunglasses at night. mixmasterlooney
Well technically the law is you can't have any tints on any fronts windows as of 2004 i believe... Ask any tinting firm! A tinting firm told me it is illegal for tints on the front. However the government website says otherwise. Front windows must allow 70% light through. Meaning a max of 30% tint allowed, if you take into consideration the car factory tint at a max of 15% you are then only allowed an additional 15% max on the front side windows and 10% on the windscreen Sent from my GT-I9300 using Ford OC mobile app

alkyz89
So I wonder why tinting firms claim it is illegal seen as it is there career you'd think they would know??
Stoney871
As long as they tint up to legal levels then they are fine. If they go abovelegal levels then they are breaking the law and can be prosecuted for making vehicles unsafe for road use. Some cheekily get customers to sign waivers stating that the car is to be used off road only then wave the driver goodbye when they leave their premises. They don't care as long as they have your money in their banks and will happily charge you again when you return to get the tint replaced after my Bretheren rips it off for you.
alkyz89
Ok so this might sound stupid but what is the actual reason for the tint shade being illegal, as many drivers seem to drive around with sun glasses on lol I'd love to see a copper doing a light test on a pair of sunnys haha
Stoney871
Sunglasses are removable in poor light/at night, tints aren't. Same reason as bike riders aren't allowed tinted visors (secondary tinted visors allowed as they can be raised without lifting the main visor). jbeer
had an 18% tint on the rear windows and a 55% tint on the fronts... also got the covex light tints on the rear lights... Are you sure you have these percentages correct as it seems you have a higher tint level on the front than the rears and thought this would have been round the other way?
